Here is how Florida State football commits did in their first week of high school football

While we wait for Florida State football to kick off its season on September 3 against LSU, high school football across the country is underway.

The Seminoles had a busy offseason on the recruiting trail and their top recruits are showing just how good they are under the Friday night lights. From Tallahassee to California, FSU's recruiting presence will be felt nationwide this fall.

Here is what FSU's commits were up to in Week 1 and where you can find them this week.

  • 5-star tight end commit Landen Thomas recorded three receptions for 32 yards in Colquitt County's (Georiga) season-opening win over Dutch Fork (South Carolina), 48-17. 4-star wide receiver and Georgia commit Ny Carr had an impressive 136 receiving yards and a touchdown.

  • Stats were unavailable, but 5-star cornerback commit KJ Bolden had a pick-six and a receiving touchdown in No. 10 Buford's (Georgia) 18-0 win over No. 6 St. Frances Academy (Maryland). Georgia commit Dylan Raiola also threw for two touchdowns.

  • 4-star quarterback commit Luke Kromenhoek was 6-11 passing for 89 yards and a touchdown, helping Benedictine Military School (Georgia) to a 42-0 win over Jenkins. Kromenhoek also had 59 rushing yards and a rushing score.

  • 4-star athlete commit Kam Davis threw for 171 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 117 yards in Doughtry's (Georgia) 32-15 win over Westover.

  • 3-star cornerback commit Ricky Knight III had two interceptions, one returned for a touchdown and one caused fumble in Cardinal Newman's (Florida) 41-0 win over Park Vista.

  • 3-star safety commit CJ Heard had five tackles, four solo and one assisted, and a pass deflection in Woodward Academy’s win over Trinity Christian, 45-8. His teammate, 3-star wide receiver and Wake Forest commit Ben Grice had 154 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

  • 4-star offensive lineman commit Manasse Itete won his season opener with Central Catholic (California) over Merced, 42-12.

  • 3-star wide receiver commit BJ Gibson lost his season opener with Wilcox County (Georgia) to Lamar County, 47-12.

  • 3-star linebacker commit Jayden Parrish helped Atlantic (Florida) blank state semifinalist Plam Beach Central, 15-0, for a preseason victory.

  • 3-star linebacker commit Timir Hickman-Collins lost his Week 1 game with Indian River (South Carolina) against Nation Ford, 29-28.

  • 2026 4-star athlete commit Devin Carter won his first game of the season with Cedar Grove (Georgia) over Dutchtown, 34-33.
