First-round boys lacrosse playoffs: Bolles, Episcopal on collision course
One year removed from a state final, Bolles looked like a team ready for a return trip.
The top-seeded Bulldogs steamrolled through their postseason opener, winning 20-6 against visiting Tallahassee Maclay (9-12) in Wednesday night's Florida High School Athletic Association Region 1-1A boys lacrosse first-round playoff.
Nolan Preston led with five goals and Jacob Campen, Jack Cox, Parker Kane and Jake Kerns each scored twice for the Bulldogs (19-2), who remain undefeated on the season against Florida opponents. Sophomore Greer Boree won 18 of 21 faceoffs and recorded nine ground balls.
They advance to a home playoff game on May 1 against private-school rival Episcopal, which started fast for an 11-3 victory over visiting Menendez (12-6).
Episcopal (14-8) beat Menendez for the sixth time in the last five years.
