Every angle: Tuesday's MetroWest and Milford-area Fantastic Five high school athletes

We've got our bases covered. Tuesday's MetroWest and Milford-area Fantastic Five high school athletes represent five schools and four sports. They each stood out in their own way and led their teams to key victories in an important part of the season.

EMILY BRENNION, Assabet softball

She punched out 13 batters in a 9-3 win over Leicester. Megan O'Leary (triple), Jessica Knollenberg (triple) and Erin Blanchard each had two hits for Assabet (2-7).

CONNOR CLAFLIN, Framingham boys lacrosse

He accounted for six points in a 15-12 win over Weymouth. Claflin scored four goals with two assists for Framingham (8-5). Matthew Treacy added four goals for the Flyers, who led 12-1 at halftime.

CAYLA EHRLICH, Westborough girls lacrosse

She piled up eight points with four goals and four assists in a 12-7 win over Tyngsborough. Katherine Sams added a hat trick for the Rangers (12-2), while Lily Villaflor contributed two goals and an assist.

LIZ HOPKINS, Franklin girls track and field

She broke the school record in the javelin with a toss of 1139 feet, 6 inches, as the Panthers beat North Attleboro 85-51 to win the Hockomock Kelly Rex title for the third year in a row and finish with a perfect 5-0 record in dual meets. Ella Chandaria won the 100-meter dash and 200 for Franklin, which was also first in the 4x100 and 4x400 relays.

CALEB PEREIRA, Marlborough boys volleyball

He piled up 32 assists and five aces in a 3-0 win over Nashoba. Gui Garcia put down 19 kills for Marlborough (11-3) in a 25-11, 26-24, 25-16 victory.

Baseball

DIMAN 2, Tri-County 0: Cam Cummings, Nathan McCurdy and Joe Thomas each doubled, but the Cougars (5-5, 3-3 Mayflower) left five runners on base.

AMSA 5, Littleton 1: Liam Thornley singled three times and drove in a pair of runs, while Joe Veracka singled and doubled for the Eagles (7-3). AMSA's Trevor Petty scattered seven hits and fanned four over 6-2/3 inning.

NORTHBRIDGE 4, Hopedale 3: Mike Rutkowski struck out six over seven innings and allowed three earned runs for the Blue Raiders (10-4), while Lucas Levasseur (RBI), Noah Smith (2 doubles), Brayden Lewis and Will Adamski all had two hits.

WESTBOROUGH 7, Nipmuc 6: The Rangers (5-10) rallied for three runs in the top of the seventh, taking advantage of Dylan Fisher's RBI single to center, a run on a passed ball and another run on an error, and held on to defeat the Warriors (7-6). Nipmuc cut the lead to one when Anthony Ruggiero lined a two-out single to center to score Leodices Polanco, but Andy Cerniglia pitched out of the jam to seal the win. Fisher and Nick Bellofatto each had two hits to lead Westborough. Nipmuc's Josh Giancola was 3 for 4 with a double, while Joey Fraser doubled twice and drove in three runs and John Desmond and Ruggiero (double) each had two hits.

Softball

LINCOLN-SUDBURY 5, Hudson 2: Warriors junior Ashleigh Lent launched a two-run homer in the first inning. Sarah Danielson and Sophie Jorjorian each added a sacrifice fly for L-S (13-0). Eighth grader Sydney Roush was 2-for-3 for the Hawks (8-5), and Hudson's Taylor Attaway had a hit and two RBIs.

MEDWAY 14, Holliston 0 (5): Nina Pacella homered among her two hits with two RBIs Monday, while Priya Bedard (triple) and Grace DeLucia contributed two hits and three RBIs each for the Mustangs (8-3). Medway's Ava Fahey allowed just one hit in the shutout, and Oliva Klaus drove in three runs.

NOTRE DAME (WORCESTER) 18, Algonquin 14: Tessa James collected three hits and three RBIs for the Titans (4-9), Gianna Esposito had three hits and Emily Ruiz singled twice and drove in five runs.

AMSA 11, Littleton 2: Guilamina Yost was 3 for 4 with a double and two RBIs, while Madelyn Glynn (triple, 3 RBIs), Ava McLeod, Kathleen Galvin (double) and Brooke Laudate (double) each had two hits for the Eagles.

HOPEDALE 10 Northbridge 7: Lizzie Brytowski went 4-for-4 with two RBIs and a run, Kelsey Evans was 3-for-3 with a run and Delaney Vaillette was 2-for-4 with two runs as the Blue Raiders (12-1) scored seven in the bottom of the sixth and held on.

Boys lacrosse

'On our heels': Lincoln-Sudbury 'played with a bit of fear' in boys lacrosse loss to No. 1 St. John's Prep

WESTFIELD 8, Algonquin 3: Garrett Willwerth, Declan Mulkerin and Ben Yosca scored once for the Titans (8-4).

NATICK 15, Braintree 4: Ray Gilkes won 20 faceoffs and scored twice for the Redhawks (7-6). Natick's Parker Boyce poured in five goals, and Alex Peck put away a hat trick.

Girls lacrosse

LINCOLN-SUDBURY 11, Wayland 2: Harper Friedholm (two assists, three ground balls, two caused turnovers), Ava Vadgama (two assists, one ground ball) and Ella Ryan (one assist, one ground ball, three draw controls) scored three goals each for L-S (8-2). L-S' Lydia Canavan won five draw controls, scored two goals and added an assist, two ground balls and a caused turnover.

NIPMUC 16, Worcester 1: Liz Lange had four goals and three assists for the Warriors (8-3, 7-0 Mid-Mass).

ALGONQUIN 13, Medway 5: Grace Chiota (six goals), Bella Roman (four goals, 1 assist) and Shea Domolky (two goals, two assists) propelled the Titans (8-4).

Boys tennis

HOPEDALE 3, Doherty 2: The Blue Raiders depth carried them through. C.J. Kivlehan bested Gabriel Timoteo 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3 singles, and Hopedale (4-3) swept the doubles points. No. 1 pair Carter Lachiatto and Dom Costanza beat Thanh Tran and Evan Cheng 6-2, 6-2, while Matthew Miller and Brady Droeske prevailed 6-0, 6-3 against Willy Dejesus and Aiden Bukoski at No. 2.

WESTBOROUGH 5, Wachusett 0: The Rangers lost just three games up and down the lineup. Jorge Garcia Gonzelz bested Lam Quach 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles, while Westborough's No. 1 doubles pair of Sean Levesque and Sri Navuduri won 6-0, 6-0 against Nolan O'Brien. At No. 1 singles, Jordan Hlawek beat Nathan Tran 6-0, 6-1 for Westborough (10-0). Arna Chinthapatia bested Nick Smith 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 singles, and Zach Forjette and Sumanth Sura won 6-1, 6-0 against Curtis White and Ray Zhing at No. 2 doubles.

Girls tennis

TYNGSBOROUGH 3, Marlborough 2: The Panthers' freshman first doubles pair Lilly Murphy and Emmaline Bowles picked up one of Marlborough's points to improve their record to 3-0 in their first three matches together.

HOPEDALE 4, Sutton 1: The Blue Raiders doubles teams secured 6-3, 6-4 victories to ensure a strong result. Abie Aldrich and Callie Costanza beat Katerina Quill and Laura Sullivan, while Gabriella Rinehart and Madison Buttonow prevailed over Sophia Quill and Emily Pietras for Hopedale (6-2). At No. 1 singles, Pia Obrador took down Erin Sulivan 6-2, 6-2, while Emma Friesema won 6-4, 6-4 over Karolina Eykman at No. 2.

ALGONQUIN 3, Shrewsbury 2: No. 3 singles player Siya Arde held down the fort for the Titans (7-4) with a 7-5, 6-1 win over Anushri Mishra to secure the victory. Algonquin swept the doubles points, as CLaire Wallace and Becca White beat Riddhi Gulati and Arpan Chhabra 6-4, 6-2 at No. 1, and the No. 2 pair of Sophia Kopstein and Riya Mahanta bested Mai An Nguye and Nidhi Vidyaprakash 6-2, 6-3.

WELELSLEY 3, Newton North 2: The Raiders No. 2 doubles team Mia Chung and Sari Heart won 6-3, 6-3 to clinch the match. Wellesley's Kimberly Tai captured a victory at No. 1 singles 6-3, 6-3, and Shea and Shannon Welburn prevailed 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles for Wellesley (10-1).

Girls track and field

WESTBOROUGH 125.5, Shepherd Hill 19.5: Quinn Anderson won the high jump and discus, Al Regnier placed first in the 100 and long jump and Julia Young was first in the mile and 800 for the Rangers (2-1-1, 2-1-1 Mid-Wach A).
