These District 10 high school athletes emerge as Erie County top performers for Jan. 22-27

The Erie Times-News compiles weekly lists of Erie County's top performers throughout District 10's winter sports season.

The latest list includes their notable efforts recorded during the week of Jan. 22-27:

Boys basketball

Eli Troyer, Union City: His nine points were enough to lead the Bears’ scoring when they defeated the Jamestown Muskies 38-34.

Tyler Grove, McDowell: The Trojans won 66-51 at Pittsburgh’s Taylor Allderdice with the aid of his team-high 22 points. ... Ahead of that game, his 31 points were nearly half of McDowell's total during its 67-61 win against General McLane.

Rylan Smith, Corry: The Beavers defeated Titusville 73-45 thanks in part to his 26 points.

Adrien Tate, Erie High: The Royals beat the rival Cathedral Prep Ramblers 86-78 with the aid of his 29-point effort at Al Calabrese Gymnasium.

Tanner Ashton, Mercyhurst Prep: A balanced scoring attack during the Lakers’ 63-23 victory at Northwestern was topped by his 13 points.

Simon Gonzalez, Erie First Christian: He recorded a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds when the Eagles defeated Iroquois 68-52.

Tyler DiVecchio, Fairview: He scored 11 points when the Tigers beat Seneca 53-41.

Kenny Godoy, Girard: The YellowJackets’ 65-36 victory vs. North East included his 17-point performance. ... Earlier in the week, Girard defeated the Iroquois Braves 77-42 with the aid of his 20 points.

Noah Crozier, North East: The Grapepickers beat Seneca 58-43 in part from his 18 points.

Tanner Ashton, Mercyhurst Prep: He recorded 14 points for the Lakers, who beat the Fairview Tigers 61-48.

J.T. Delsandro, Harbor Creek: The guard for the Huskies had a 33-point performance during their dramatic 77-74 overtime victory vs. General McLane.

Avery Collins, Erie First Christian: He finished with 22 points for the Eagles when they beat Northwestern 55-48.

Nando Mirarchi, Cathedral Prep: His 23-point performance helped the Ramblers rally from a 13-point deficit for a 64-60 victory at McDowell.

Girls basketball

Olivia Kulyk, Mercyhurst Prep: She concluded her busy week of scoring for the Lakers with a 31-point performance during their 69-53 win against District 9’s Redbank Valley. ... Her 16 points were enough to outscore the Girard YellowJackets when Mercyhurst defeated them 63-11. ... The New Jersey Institute of Technology recruit began her week with a 22-point performance during the team's 70-36 victory vs. Eisenhower.

Addie Biel, Cathedral Prep: Her 19-point effort contributed to the Ramblers’ 49-22 victory vs. Erie High. ... Prep formerly beat General McLane 56-26 in part from her 20 points.

Cathryn Reynolds, Union City: The Bears edged Cochranton 47-45 with the aid of her 13 points. ... Union City's prior game saw her score 23 points during a 71-14 rout of Rocky Grove.

Makayla Presser-Palmer, Northwestern: The latest effort for the high-scoring Wildcat was a 20-point performance during their 50-22 win against North East. ... Earlier, her 21 points nearly doubled Iroquois’ total when Northwestern defeated the Braves 56-11.

Paige Garrity, Fairview: She scored 17 points for the Tigers during their 46-18 win over Harbor Creek.

Libby Opp, General McLane: She scored 11 points for the Lancers, who beat the rival Fort LeBoeuf Bison 43-34.

Deaja Williams, Erie High: Her 21 points were all needed when the Royals defeated Butler 49-44.

Samantha Probst, North East: Her nine-point performance was still good enough to help the Grapepickers beat Girard 42-29.

Brooke Przybylski, Harbor Creek: She scored 28 points for the Huskies, who beat Fort LeBoeuf 66-37.

Emma Bleil, Seneca: Her nine points were enough to lead the Bobcats in scoring when they won 42-11 at Titusville.

Bre Heidt, Fairview: The Tigers, aided by her 15 points, won 44-33 at McDowell.

Boys swimming/diving

Logan Bach, Girard: His fourth individual win as the opening leg of the YellowJackets’ 400-yard freestyle relay helped them clinch a 69-55 Region 2 dual victory vs. General McLane.

Logan Amy, Corry: He was a four-time victor for the Beavers when they defeated the Iroquois Braves 110-21.

Logan Levandowski, McDowell: The freshman swept the 50 and 100 free races for two of his three victories during the Trojans’ 137-23 Region 3 dual win against Erie High.

Jerrick Hunter, Union City: The Bears beat the Harbor Creek Huskies 117-33 with significant help from his four first-place performances.

Finn Jensen, Fairview: First place in the 100 and 200 free races accounted for half of his wins when the Tigers beat the North East Grapepickers 134-32.

Owen Carson, Cathedral Prep: He was a rare winner of the 50 and 500 free races when the Ramblers defeated Warren in a Region 3 dual.

Evan Grimm, Fairview: He was a four-time winner for the Tigers during their 127-28 Region 2 dual victory vs. Harbor Creek.

Alex Crist, North East: He was a two-time winner for the Grapepickers when they beat the Girard YellowJackets 76-64.

Caleb Daubenspeck, Union City: He was a four-time victor for the Bears when they beat the Corry Beavers 100-75.

Colin Troutman, Cathedral Prep: He swept the freestyle sprint races for two his four wins, which also contributed to the Ramblers’ 103-80 dual victory vs. McDowell.

Girls swimming/diving

Cassidy Swain, General McLane: She was a four-time winner for the Lancers, who beat Girard 127-43.

Mackenzie Spence, Corry: The last of her four victories was anchoring the Beavers’ 400-yard freestyle relay finale of their 85-80 Region 2 dual win against Iroquois. ... She also helped Corry sweep first place in the relay races and won the 100 backstroke during the team's 94-57 win over the rival Union City Bears.

Havana Austin, McDowell: She was a four-time victor for the Trojans when they beat the Erie High Royals 140-32.

Jaslene Cage, Cathedral Prep: She resumed her successful freshman season for the Ramblers with four victories during their 123-63 Region 3 dual win against Warren.

Ava Maloney, Harbor Creek: She led off one relay and anchored a second for half of her four victories during the Huskies’ 101-55 Region 2 dual win vs. Union City.

Jillian Dennis, Fairview: She swept the freestyle sprint races and anchored two first-place relays when the Tigers defeated North East 130-55. ... Prep's previous dual, a 119-64 victory vs. Harbor Creek, saw her finish first in the 100 and 200 free for half of her victory total.

Maria Costa, Cathedral Prep: She set the pool record and team record in the 200-yard individual medley (2 minutes, 5.69 seconds) during the Ramblers’ 122-63 Region 3 dual win against the rival McDowell Trojans.

Anna Riedel, North East: She was a four-time victor for the Grapepickers during their rare 79-all Region 2 tie with the Girard YellowJackets.

Jemma Culver, Girard: The YellowJackets finished in a 79-all tie with North East when she anchored the YellowJackets’ 400 free relay to first place in the dual’s last race.

Wrestling

Keagan Oler, Cathedral Prep: His first-place performance in the 126-pound weight class also helped the Ramblers finish first in the team standings for West Virginia’s Frank Ferguson Brooke Classic.

Magnus Lloyd, General McLane: The 180-pounder’s silver medal effort was the individual best for the Lancers during their first-place team appearance at Grove City’s Fred Bell Memorial Tournament.

Dom Snyder, General McLane: His pin in the 107 match capped a 30-0 start for the Lancers en route to their 63-9 rout of the visiting Girard YellowJackets.

Kael Albers, Corry: The 215-pounder’s team-leading 27th pin and 30th victory began the Beavers’ 75-0 shutout of Seneca.

Conner McChesney, Fort LeBoeuf: The 189-pounder, who was sidelined since mid-December because of a shoulder injury, recorded a pin in his return to action when the Bison beat Harbor Creek 56-12.

Aiden Carter, Cathedral Prep: His fall in the 107 match was the last in a run of four straight for the Ramblers, who won 42-27 at Hickory.

Pascal Laporte, North East: The 160-pounder’s pin concluded a 35-0 start for the Grapepickers, who beat Erie High 44-9 in a non-region dual at Al Calabrese Gymnasium.

Girls bowling

Jenna Chandley, McDowell: Her 661 series, which helped the Trojans beat Erie High 23-4, was the highest during the latest Metro League action at Eastland Bowl.

Clarissa Lewis, Mercyhurst Prep: Her 426 series led the Lakers during their 15½-12½ Metro League victory over Cathedral Prep.

Hockey

Jacob Baniewicz, McDowell: He was responsible for the entire offense when the Trojans beat West Allegheny 2-1 in Class A action at Robert Morris University’s Island Sports Center.

Tanner Ball, Cathedral Prep: The Ramblers, thanks to the goaltender’s 31 saves, shut out Pittsburgh Central Catholic 3-0 in a Class AAA game at Erie Bank Sports Park.
