DWU volleyball's Ady Dwight claims Academic All-America player of the year honor

Jan. 9—MITCHELL — Dakota Wesleyan University volleyball standout Ady Dwight was named the NAIA Academic All-American volleyball player of the year by the College Sports Communicators, it was announced on Tuesday, Jan. 9.

The Tigers' middle blocker from Langford has a 3.86 cumulative GPA and is studying nursing.

As a senior, Dwight had 556 kills and a career-best .345 hitting percentage with 97 total blocks. She finished second all-time in DWU career kills with 1,841.

Dwight, a three-time NAIA All-America first-team pick and four-time AVCA All-Region player, was named Great Plains Athletic Conference Attacker of the Year in 2023.

Dwight also received the NAIA A.O. Duer Scholarship Award in September, which is awarded to one male and female NAIA athlete annually following their junior season.
