Baseball

District 10-7A

No. 1 Vero Beach (21-4) 5, No. 2 Treasure Coast (16-7) 4: Vero Beach jumped out to a healthy advantage and held off the Titans to claim their first district title since 2021.

Sebastian Dimitroff earned the victory on the mound after lasting 4 2/3 innings. He allowed four runs on seven hits and a walk with five strikeouts. Finley Holmes entered in the fifth as the senior only relinquished a hit and two walks with two strikeouts through 2 1/3 scoreless frames for the save.

Offensively, Holmes also had a hits, two walks and an RBI. Also producing an RBI, Caleb Wood contributed a double.

Treasure Coast outhit the Vero Beach 8-5. The Titans scored four runs in the fifth, highlighted by a three-run home run from Raymond Missett. Each hitting a double, Bobby Johnson and Logan Zavala added two hits.

District 14-5A

No. 1 American Heritage-Plantation (17-10) 10, No. 3 South Fork (13-14) 2: Conner Wiggins was 3-for-3 with a double, a walk and run scored at the plate in the loss for the Bulldogs. Greg Neu added two hits and drove in both of the team's runs.

District 4-4A

No. 1 Cardinal Gibbons (20-4-2) 2, No. 2 Jensen Beach (16-11) 1: Vincent Cooke took loss on the mound for the Falcons. Cooke went the distance, allowing two runs on six hits and two walks with six strikeouts.

Ty Verlado went collected Jensen Beach's only hit and was one of five players to draw a walk. Will Rader also walked once and scored the team's only run.

District 13-2A

No. 1 John Carroll Catholic (16-11) 11, No. 2 Master's Academy (16-11) 1 (F/6): The Rams cruised to their six-straight district title. Visit TCPalm.com to read a recap of this game.

Softball

District 14-5A

No. 1 South Fork (12-6) 4, No. 2 Sebring (13-8) 0: After losing to the Blue Streak in last year's district title game, the Bulldogs earned a bit of revenge with a shutout victory.

Katie Kidwell dominated in the circle, as the senior allowed just four hits and a walk with a strikeout through seven innings. The also made her mark at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a stolen base and a run scored.

Kidwell also received immediate run support, as South Fork scored twice in the first. The team finished with eight walks, with three coming from Emma Ortiz and two from Elli Hernandez. Abbie Moore went 1-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored.

District 13-5A

No. 1 Bayside (15-7) 10, No. 2 Sebastian River (13-13) 0: A close game early turned into a rout as the Bears used an eight-run fifth inning to defeat the Sharks.

Sebastian River collected nine hits, with Rily Biggers, Ava Porazzo and Jazmin Hunt having two hits apiece.

District 13-3A

No. 2 Lincoln Park Academy (12-8) 2, No. 4 Cardinal Newman (15-5) 1: Seventh-grade star Makayla Megnauth fired a terrific game from the circle as her three-hit complete game to lift the Greyhounds to a district title. LPA scored a run in the seventh to take the victory.

Megnauth allowed just a run on three hits and two walks with 13 strikeouts. She also had two of the team's six hits, including a double and scored a run. Paislyn Ankiel, Justice Monds, Jade Brown and Kayci Lee each contributed a hit.

Wednesday

Softball

District 13-4A Final

No. 1 Jensen Beach (15-8) 7, No. 3 Dr. Joaquin Garcia (7-16) 1: Despite being the higher seed, the Falcons were forced to play their district championship game at the home of their opponent.

That only made a victory that much sweeter.

“It’s always exciting to win, it’s nice to do it in front of their home crowd, as much as that’s tough on them,”  Falcons head coach Sarah Gillooly said. “(Dr. Joaquin Garcia) is going to be great for the years to come. … So it’s nice to go against a team that’s up-and-coming.”

Behind lights out performance in the circle from senior Mallory Wheeler and offensive contributions from Izzy Ouellette and Lus Segura, Jensen Beach collected its second consecutive district title with a runaway win against the Bulldogs in Lake Worth.

The visitors knocked in four runs in the second inning and added two more in the sixth.

“It’s pretty awesome. Our team is doing great and I’m really proud of them,” said Gillooly, who’s team enters the state playoffs victorious in eight of its last 10 games. “This is where we want to be, peaking at the right time.”

Highlighted by a double, Ouellette had a team-high two hits. Segura had a single and drove in three runs while Martha Jones had a hit, two stolen bases and two runs scored..

That was more than enough support for Wheeler. After relinquishing a run in the first, the senior didn’t allow another run the rest of the way. She only gave up two hits and a walk with 13 strikeouts.

“Mallory is just wheelin’ and dealin’,” Gillooly said. “I’m so proud of her, she has a ridiculously amazing work ethic.”

District 11-7A Final

No. 1 St. Lucie West Centennial 4, No. 3 Treasure Coast 2: The Eagles repeated as district champions after Keyhara Alleyne blasted a walk-off two-run home run. Visit TCPalm.com to read more about this game.

District 13-2A semifinals

No. 1 John Carroll Catholic (20-6) 16, No. 4 Morningside Academy (14-8) 0 (F/3): The Rams reached the 20-win mark for the first time in eight years following a convincing victory over the Eagles.

Led by Sophia Loreto, John Carroll piled up 10 hits. The senior was 3-for-3 with a double, four RBIs and three runs scored. Briley Orton added two hits and scored once. Meanwhile, Makayla Ortiz, Isabella Ramirez and Mackenzie Mostoller each drove in a pair of runs, with Mostoller hitting a triple.

Lastly, Lilly Rollinger allowed just one walk and no hits with seven strikeouts three innings of work. Gianna DeRicco was the only baserunner for Morningside.

The Rams play host second-seeded Oxbridge Academy at 4 p.m. Thursday in Fort Pierce.

Baseball

District 14-5A semifinals

No. 3 South Fork (13-13) 2, No. 2 Suncoast (19-7) 0: Jason Dennis turned in her finest performance at the right time for the Bulldogs. The junior tossed a three-hit shutout, as he allowed just one walk to six strikeouts.

Conner Wiggins and Curtis Vining had two hits apiece for the victors. Wiggins had two doubles with an RBI while Vining turned in a double and scored once.

South Fork plays No. 1 seed American Heritage at 7 p.m. Thursday in Plantation.

No. 1 American Heritage (16-10) 4, No. 4 Okeechobee (11-14) 2

District 13-2A semifinals

No. 1 John Carroll Catholic (15-11) 10, No. 4 Brevard HEAT (6-20) 0 (F/5): Mustapha Strachan piled up a team-high four RBIs to aid the Rams to a run-rule win. The senior had two hits, including a double, and a run scored.

Fellow senior Alex Workman had a triple, an RBI and scored twice. Colt Miller and Kaiden Jones each added an RBI. On the mound, Gavin Surcharski and Jacob Ernsberger combined for the shutout as the two pitchers only allowed a hit apiece and had three and four strikeouts, respectively.

No. 2 Master’s Academy (16-10) 4, No. 3 Merritt Island Christian (11-10) 2: Nate Buxton struck out eight to carry the Patriots to the district title game. The senior allowed two runs on five hits and a walk through 5 1/3 innings.

Nate Downey came on in relief of Buxton, as he got the final two outs of the sixth. He was also one of four Master’s Academy players to record a hit, as he had a double and a run scored. Credited with an RBI, C.J. Eiswerth was another player with a hit.

District 10-7A semifinals

No. 2 Treasure Coast (16-6) 8, No. 3 Fort Pierce Central (10-13) 2: Bobby Johnson and Raymond Missett provided the offensive punch to lead the Titans to the district title game.

Treasure Coast plays at 7 p.m. Thursday at top-seeded Vero Beach.

Clubbing two doubles, Johnson provided a team-best three hits to go with an RBI and a run scored. Missett went 2-for-3 with a triple, two RBIs and a run scored. The senior also pitched 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief, allowing a hit and a walk with four strikeouts.

Patrick Tavarez and Killian Gauthier each chipped in with a hit and a run scored while Jacob Suazo had two walks and scored twice.

Colin Jackson earned the win on the mound, relinquishing two runs on nine hits and a walk with four strikeouts through 5 1/3 innings.

Tuesday

Baseball

District 10-7A semifinals

No. 1 Vero Beach 3, No. 4 St. Lucie West Centennial 0: After being shut down by the Eagles during an early regular-season contest, Vero Beach returned the favor in a district semifinal battle at home.

It was the Morgan and Morgan show for the top seed. Cody Morgan tossed 6 1/3 innings for the home team, allowing just three hits and three walks with six strikeouts. Finley Holmes took over in relief during the seventh and fanned the last two batters to close out the victory.

Cole Morgan was responsible for Vero’s offense, as the senior drove in all three runs. Elsewhere, Holmes hit two hits, one stolen base and scored a run.

On the other end of the spectrum, Sebastian Germano allowed four hits and six walks with three strikeouts through 5 2/3 innings for Centennial.

District 13-4A semifinals

No. 3 Jensen Beach (16-10) 4, No. 2 American Heritage (15-11) 3: The area’s hottest team added another tally in the win column as the Falcons advanced to the district title game.

Jensen Beach plays top-seeded Cardinal Gibbons on Thursday.

The Falcons struck first with three runs in the fourth inning and another in the fifth before holding on for the win. Hudson Gardiner delivered the biggest blow at the plate, as he hit a home as part of a two-RBI night. Vincent Cooke, John Thornton and Graham Garner each added two hits.

After Christian Herrington started the night to earn the win on the mound, Ty Velardo finished it off, allowing an unearned run on a hit and two walks with five strikeouts through 2 1/3 innings.

District 13-6A semifinals

No. 2 West Boca Raton (15-11) 6, No. 3 Martin County (19-8) 0: The Tigers were held to four hits in a loss to the Bulls. Frankie Brancaleone was responsible for half of the hits, including a double. The other two came from Dylan Murphy and Gary Keats.

District 13-5A semifinals

No. 2 Eau Gallie (14-11) 8, No. 3 Port St. Lucie (10-14) 3: Josh Guerrero hit a home run and drove in two runs in the loss for Jaguars. Armani Estevez, Alfonso Hernandez, Victor Velasquez each added a hit.

Softball

District 12-6A semifinals

No. 2 Dwyer (11-14) 10, No. 3 Martin County (7-13) 1: Gabriella Waldbauer had two hits while Amelia Hannah chipped in a double and a run scored for the Tigers.

District 14-5A semifinals

No. 2 Sebring (14-6) 8, No. 3 Okeechobee (7-14) 4: Mallory Collier had a home run and finished with three RBIs in the loss for the Brahams. Lexi Thomas added a hit and two walks while Rylie Tucker went with two hits.

District 13-2A semifinals

No. 2 Oxbridge Academy (16-8) 2, No. 3 Master’s Academy (11-9) 1

Monday

Softball

District 11-7A semifinals

No. 1 St. Lucie West Centennial (18-7) 15, No. 4 Fort Pierce Central (4-16) 5 (F/5): The Eagles are one-step closer to a district repeat after pulling away from the Cobras in Port St. Lucie.

Central actually led 4-3 through an inning and a half before Centennial gained control with five runs in the second inning and five more in the third.

Hitting a double, Keyhara Alleyne had a team-high three RBIs to go with two runs scored for the Eagles. Giuliana Cavallo and Giana Devries each had two hits, with Cavallo driving in two runs and scoring once while Devries delivering an RBI.

Carmela Baker added a hit, a walk, two RBIs and two runs while Autumn Prakash worked five walks, scored three runs and had an RBI.

No. 3 Treasure Coast (13-13) 5, No. 2 Vero Beach (10-13-1) 3: The Titans kept their postseason hopes alive by collecting a road victory. Treasure Coast, ranked 12th in Region 3-7A, plays at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Centennial for the district title. The Indians were ranked ninth in the region.

District 12-6A quarterfinals

No. 3 Martin County (7-12) 21, No. 6 Atlantic (5-8) 0 (F/3): Behind a whopping 16 runs in the second inning, the Tigers made quick work of the Eagles at home in advancing to the district semifinals.

Taylor Synowski made the biggest offensive contribution, as the senior went 4-for-4 with a home run, six RBIs and three runs scored. The team overall collected 15 hits. Taylor Patton added three RBIs while Kylie Newberry and Gabriella Waldbauer each drove in two runs.

Meanwhile, Amelia Hannah and Maya Scotti didn’t relinquish a hit or a walk during their brief time in the circle. Hannah had two strikeouts in two innings for work while Scotti pitched one inning.

Martin County plays at 7 p.m. Tuesday at No. 2 Dwyer.

District 13-3A semifinals

No. 2 Lincoln Park Academy (14-8) 2, No. 3 American Heritage-Delray (11-3) 1 (F/12): Makayla Megnauth was outstanding during a marathon effort to help the Greyhounds advance.

The seventh grader went the distance in the circle, allowing just two hits and no walks with a staggering 30 strikeouts through 12 innings of work.

Scoreless through the first 10 innings, the Stallions broke through with an unearned run in the top of the 11th before LPA responded with a run in the bottom of the frame.

Justice Monds led Lincoln Park with two hits, one of which being a double, with an RBI.

The Greyhounds will play host to No. 4 seed Cardinal Newman at 5 p.m. Thursday in Fort Pierce.

District 13-2A quarterfinals

No. 4 Morningside Academy (14-7) 17, Berean Christian (9-9) 16

Baseball

District 12-6A quarterfinals

No. 3 Martin County (19-7) 21, No. 6 Atlantic (1-17) 0 (F/5): After going scoreless through the first two innings, the Tigers exploded for 10 runs over the next three frames to cruise to a victory over the Eagles.

Martin County was carried by home runs from Michael Sanchez and Gary Keats. Sanchez also had two RBIs, as did Dalton French, who contributed a double. Hitting a double as well, Joseph Cuccurullo posted two hits, two walks, stole three bases and scored three runs.

All of that offense was in support of Aidan McGucken, who allowed two hits and two walks while striking out six through five scoreless innings on the bump.

The Eagles will play at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at No. 2 West Boca Raton.

District 13-4A quarterfinals

No. 3 Jensen Beach (15-10) 13, No. 6 Northeast (12-6) 3 (F/5): Boosted by a fifth-run first inning and seven-run third, the Falcons rolled to their eighth consecutive victory after beating the Hurricanes at home.

Jake Figman was perfect at the plate, as he went 3-for-3 with two doubles, an RBI and two runs scored. Hudson Gardiner added two hits, an RBI and two runs scored. Dylan Fatovich added a triple.

Meanwhile, Noah Ehlers got the start on the mound for Jensen Beach. He only relinquished a hit and no walks with two strikeouts through two innings of work.

The Falcons play against No. 2 American Heritage at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in Delray Beach.

District 13-5A quarterfinals

No. 4 Bayside (10-13) 9, No. 5 Fort Pierce Westwood (10-12) 3: Relinquishing five runs in the first innings, the Panthers could not recover in suffering a road defeat to the Bears.

Nolan Barnes and Jaylyn Monds each had two hits for the visitors, with Barnes drawing a walk and scoring once. Brandon Fillmore went 1-for-3 at the plate with a double, an RBI and a run scored.

While its year came to a close, Westwood undoubtedly had a successful campaign in 2024. The program captured its first 10-win season since 2003.

District 11-3A quarterfinals

No. 4 Oxbridge Academy (10-11) 10, No. 5 Lincoln Park Academy (10-9) 3: The Greyhounds season came to a close following a loss to the ThunderWolves. Aiden Shaw went 1-for-4 at the plate with a double, an RBI and a run scored for LPA. Aiden Harrison added a hit and an RBI.

District 13-2A quarterfinals

No. 4 Brevard HEAT (6-19) 9, No. 5 St. Edward’s (0-15) 0
