Deptford High School to name baseball field after fallen police officer
The place where Bobby Shisler played the game he loved, the baseball field at Deptford High School, will forever bear his name.
The school's varsity baseball field will officially be named “Bobby Shisler Baseball Field” after fallen police officer Robert “Bobby” Shisler.
Deptford will hold a ceremony on Friday at 3:45 pm before the game with Gloucester City. The event is open to the public.

Shisler was a Deptford Township Police Officer who was shot in the line of duty during a pedestrian stop on March 10, 2023. He died from his injuries on May 7, 2023. Shisler was 27.
Shisler was a catcher on the Spartans' baseball team before his graduation in 2014. He drove in nine runs as a senior, including a four-RBI performance in a 7-6 win over West Deptford.
