Daytona 500 updates: NASCAR race postponed to Monday because of inclement weather

The NASCAR Cup Series won't begin the on Sunday after all.

The Daytona 500 was canceled for Sunday and rescheduled for Monday at 3 p.m. CT from Daytona International Speedway, NASCAR announced Sunday morning.

Green flag was scheduled for just after 2 p.m. CT Sunday, but a wet weather forecast threw a wrench into NASCAR's plans. Rain forced the postponement of Saturday's Xfinity Series race to Monday, and rain is expected to fall in Daytona Beach throughout Sunday morning and into the afternoon.

Joey Logano is on the pole, with Michael McDowell on the outside of the front row. The two Fords will lead the field to the green flag whenever mother nature allows.
