Curry exits with ankle injury

Stephen Curry's latest ankle injury forced him out of the Golden State Warriors' Thursday night game against the San Antonio Spurs in Oakland, Calif.

In the first quarter, Curry landed awkwardly on his right ankle after getting fouled by Dejounte Murray on a layup attempt. Curry limped into the tunnel as the play concluded. The Warriors called a timeout to give Curry a breather, and he returned to hit both foul shots. Golden State then committed a foul in order to sub Curry out of the game.

After initially saying Curry would be observed and his status for the remainder of the night was uncertain, the Warriors later ruled Curry out.

Curry, who has a lengthy history of ankle problems, also hurt his right ankle last week. However, he didn't miss any game action as the Warriors had three days off before beating the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday.

Before managing two points in two minutes Thursday, Curry was averaging 26.8 points, 6.3 assists and 5.2 rebounds per game this season.
