Was everyone productive this fine weekend? Hopefully everyone had plenty of free time to spend with their families, friends and anyone in between. I guarantee a few of the readers partook in some adult beverages between evenings of state championships in hockey, wrestling and gymnastics.

Enough with the pleasantries; time to get down to brass tacks. Friday’s questions were not all that difficult yet only a few responses on Facebook and Twitter came close. Sad to say no prizes will be awarded again this week. Perhaps our next quiz will be much easier for readers and one of best and brightest can reap the benefits.

For readers new to this article; on Friday, cover32 comes up with five questions and on Monday the answers are revealed.

Trivia Blitz: Random fun

Here are the answers to the Trivia Blitz from Friday, February 24th:

Question One

1. Which running back has 200 carries in each of the last ten NFL seasons?

Seldom the first running back anyone thinks of as far as greatness is concerned yet Frank Gore has been the model of consistency the past ten seasons.

Question Two

2. Which player is considered to be the heaviest player to ever play in a NFL game?

Coming in at a whopping 410 pounds, Aaron Gibson of the Lions, Cowboys, Bears and the Bills is considered to be the heaviest player to ever play in a NFL game.

Question Three

3. Who was the first quarterback to pass for 1,000 yards in a NFL season?

I’m sure everyone remembers the 1936 season when Arnie Herber threw for 1,000 yards for the Green Bay Packers.

Question Four

4. Which kicker holds the record for PAT’s attempted with 10 in one game?

Charlie Gogolak of the Washington Redskins attempted 10 PAT’s against the New York Giants on November 27th, 1966.

Question Five

5. “I still hold the NFL record for yards-per-game average in a season with 143.1. I ran with the ball 2,404 times in my NFL career; however it was my post career ‘run’ that I am sadly most famous for. Who am I?

“Obviously I am none other than offender number 1027820 at the Lovelock Correctional Center in Nevada. Before that though, I was one of the greatest running backs in NFL history, Orenthal James ‘O.J.’ Simpson.”

Finish

How did everyone do in this week’s trivia; not tough enough or too tough? My esteemed editor likes the “who am I” questions and has a few tough ones for everyone this coming Friday. As always, be sure to check in every Monday and Friday to test your knowledge of trivial events in the NFL.
