Overweight and suspended, Karlos Williams is on some thin ice right now in Buffalo. While Williams was the Buffalo Bills breakout player last season, his start to the 2016 campaign has been at the complete opposite end of the spectrum from where his 2015 season ended last year.

Suspended for the first four games of the year did not help any for the former Florida State alumni. Now, with the Bills signing veteran tailback Reggie Bush combined with the already deep of amount of talent at the running back position, could Karlos Williams be on the cut line come the end of the preseason.

As far fetched as it sounds, it is extremely possible especially if the Bills don’t want to take five running backs into the season. LeSean McCoy, Mike Gillislee, and Reggie Bush are almost guaranteed a roster spot. Rookie draft pick Jonathan Williams — though he is facing a two-game suspension — is a mid-round draft pick and will be on the week one roster.

Where does this leave Karlos Williams. If he had just been suspended for the first four games, it would have been no big deal to me. However, arriving way overweight to OTA’s and blaming his pregnant wife for giving him cravings — wait isn’t that backwards? — Williams is now trending in the wrong direction.

With the running back class so deep for the Buffalo Bills, head coach Rex Ryan could use Williams as an example to the rest of his team. Extremely talented, Williams could be cut by Ryan to remind everyone in the team that they are expendable and making these types of mistakes will not be tolerated.

Again, this may be seen as an extreme long shot type of move but it is possible. However, even if Karlos Williams is cut by the Buffalo Bills he will definitely land on his feet somewhere else thanks to his talent and ability to pound the football and score in the redzone.

Turning around both his weight and personal issues are a must for Williams. Proving to the team that he is maturing will also be on the agenda for Williams. If he fails to do these things then I feel his days as a member of the Buffalo Bills could be numbered.
