Check out the top performers around the Coastal Bend in the area track meet

Districts across the Coastal Bend convened on Thursday for their area track & field meets, pitting neighboring district qualifiers against one another with regional meet berths on the line.

The meets stretched from La Joya to Port Lavaca and points in between.

The top four finishers in each event advanced to the Region IV meet in their respective classification on April 18-19.

Here are some of the top Corpus Christi performers at the area meet:

BOYS

King's Jackson Lovvorn doubled in the 1,600 and 3,200 winning gold in both distance events.

Veterans Memorial hurdler Temoc Zamora claimed gold in the 110- and 300-meter hurdles to advance in both.

Flour Bluff's Zach DeWalt again posted blazing times in winning the 100 and 200 at the District 29-5A/30-5A meet.

Veterans Memorial's Brody Garcia won the high jump by five inches over the second-place finisher, with a mark of 6-foot-7.

Tuloso-Midway's Jayden McCoy won the 100, 200, high jump and 400 relay with his Warriors teammates along with finishing third in the long jump. He tied for high point.

Kingsville's Jasiah Rivera claimed gold in the 110 and 300 hurdles, the long jump and finished second in the high jump. His mark of 22-feet, 11-inches was a record and he ran anchor on the 1,600 relay, finishing third. He tied for high point.

Beeville's Brian Rivas Jr. won the 400, finished fourth in the 200 and helped the Trojans' 1,600 relay capture gold.

Ingleside's JC Smith was high point male athlete of the area meet, winning the long jump, triple jump and finishing second in the high jump.

Hebbronville's Gary Custer won the 1,600 and 3,200, coasting past the field in both distance events.

Banquete's Blas Villarreal won the long jump and finished second in the triple jump and high jump, earning high point honors.

Hebbronville's Eden Perez won the 100 and 200-meter dash.

Taft's Enrique Rodriguez sped past the field in the 400 and added a silver in the 100.

Refugio's Ernest Campbell won the 100, 200, long jump and helped the Bobcats 400 relay to a gold medal as well.

Port Aransas' William Carlough claimed the 1,600 and 3,200 meter titles against strong competition.

Premont's Haven Farias advanced in three individual events, winning the 800, taking third in the 3,200 and finishing fourth in the 1,600.

Refugio's Jason Moore won the 400 and helped the Bobcats to gold medals in the 400 relay and 1,600 relay.

Three Rivers' Caden Soliz claimed three individual medals, winning the triple jump and finishing second in the high jump and long jump.

Refugio's Chai Whitmire medaled in five events, taking second in the triple jump, third in the long jump and helped the Bobcats win all three relays.

GIRLS

Gregory-Portland's Kaitlyn Kilgore won the shot put and discus, including a new personal best mark of 123-10 in discus.

Flour Bluff's Maggie Croft won the long jump, finished second in the 400 and shot put and took third in the 100.

Carroll's Elaina Lucido finished second in the 1,600 and 3,200 and fourth in the 800 to advance in all three distance events.

Robstown's Trinity Anscombe won the 100, 200, long jump and finished second in the triple jump at the District 31-4A/32-4A meet.

Robstown's Nyomi Garcia outran the field in the 800 and 1,600 to win double gold.

Alice's Kaylin Cervantes helped the Coyotes win the 800 and 1,600 relay and also won the triple jump, finished second in the long jump and fourth in the high jump to qualify for regionals in five events.

Beeville's Harper Green won the 300 hurdles, finished fourth in the 100 hurdles and helped her team win the 1,600 relay.

Rockport-Fulton's Angela Coronado finished second in the 1,600 and 3,200 to advance in both distances.

London's Jordin Jarrin scored a medal of every color, winning gold in the 1,600, silver in the 800 and bronze in the 400.

George West's Michelle Lindholm finished second in the 100 hurdles and won the 200.

Refugio's Jazmyn Howard claimed gold in all five events, winning the long jump, triple jump, 100 and helping the Bobcats win the 400 and 800 relay.

Refugio's Jazaelynne Lewis finished second in the 100, fourth in the triple jump and helped the Bobcats win the 400 and 800 relay.

Refugio's Riley Haug won the 400, the high jump and helped her team win the 400 and 800 relay.

Refugio's Ciara Tilley claimed double gold winning the discus and shot put.
