Charlotte Hornets seem to prefer Brandon Miller at No. 2 in 2023 NBA draft

It appears as if the cat is out of the bag and the Charlotte Hornets seemingly prefer former Alabama basketball standout, Brandon miller, as the No. 2 overall selection in the 2023 NBA draft. Obviously, until the card is handed in nothing is guaranteed, but Charlotte reportedly loves the fit between LaMelo Ball and Miller as well as being incredibly impressed by his private workouts.

It is a foregone conclusion, however, that Victor Wembanyama from France will be the No. 1 overall selection to the San Antonio Spurs which helps make things more clear for the Hornets. The No. 2 pick has essentially dwindled down to Miller and Scoot Henderson of the G-League Ignite, but with PG LaMelo Ball on the roster already, it doesn’t make a ton of sense to go get another ball-oriented guard.

In 1995, Antonio McDyess was selected No. 2 overall, which is currently the highest any Crimson Tide player has ever been drafted, but it seems as if Miller will likely share the record with him after tomorrow evening.

The same 1995 season was also the last time that Alabama had two players selected in the first round with Jason Caffey being taken at No. 20 overall. That also will likely change as Noah Clowney will be in attendance for the draft as one of only 20 players invited to the draft’s green room. He is expected to be selected right around No. 20.

Despite his decision to sell the team, Michael Jordan will still have the final say on the Hornets selection and he has apparently been a fan of Miller all along.
