Celtics reportedly plan to play double big lineup vs. Miami Heat in Game 1

Ahead of the Boston Celtics’ rematch with the Miami Heat in the 2023 Eastern Conference finals, there had been some speculation over whether the Celtics would continue to lean on their double big lineup that starts both center Robert Williams III and forward Al Horford in place of a smaller starting lineup bringing guard Derrick White back into the starters.

But that question has been answered for the time being with CLNS Media’s Bobby Manning reporting that Williams will start for the Celtics vs. the Heat in Game 1. Given Boston outscored the Philadelphia 76ers by 28 points per 100 possessions in Games 6 and 7 with Williams and Al Horford together on the floor, that seems like it might be worth trying to start things out in the next round.

Manning asks the key question of whether Williams will last in the lineup, especially with a different matchup looming at the four spot between Kevin Love and Caleb Martin.

Take a look at the clip embedded above to hear his reasoning.
