Broncos All-Pro pass rusher Von Miller suffers season-ending injury

A big reason the Broncos were able to finish last season with a 4-1 mark over the last five games was on the strength of their defense. The most crucial piece of that defense is Von Miller. Tuesday, he suffered an injury in practice that has been diagnosed as season-ending, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

The All-Pro pass rusher had 5.5 of his eight sacks and eight of his ten tackles for loss last season in his final eight games.

The Raiders and Broncos both finished with identical 7-9 records last season, with the Broncos winning the season finale over the Raiders.

This season figured to be just as hotly contested between the two teams, trying to make a playoff run and keep within striking distance of the division favorite Chiefs.

Without Miller, that task will be that much harder for the Broncos and it could once again come down to their meeting in the season finale.
