Phoenix Suns: Bradley Beal (ankle) upgraded to available for Friday vs. Charlotte Hornets

Bradley Beal has been upgraded to available for Friday's game against Charlotte to begin a six-game homestand after previously being listed as questionable.

Beal has only played six games this season, mostly due to low back issues, but he hasn't played since suffering a right ankle sprain Dec. 15 against the New York Knicks.

The Suns are coming off a 129-113 win Wednesday at Houston that snapped a three-game skid.

Beal got in a pregame workout before that game, as well as before Monday's Christmas home loss to Dallas.

Beal twisted his ankle landing on Knicks guard Donte DiVincenzo's foot on a 3-point basket early in the first quarter of a 139-122 home loss.

The Suns announced Dec. 18 a plan to re-evaluate Beal's ankle in two weeks, but coach Frank Vogel said earlier this week if Beal could return sooner, he would.

Phoenix's Big 3 of Devin Booker, Kevin Durant and Beal have only played in one full game together. Their second game was against the Knicks when Beal went down due to injury.

Beal is averaging 14.7 points with his new team, his lowest scoring average since his rookie year in 2012-13. The Suns acquired Beal in an offseason trade that moved Chris Paul to Washington.

The Wizards traded Paul to Golden State and received Jordan Poole in return.

Phoenix's Big 3 of Devin Booker, Kevin Durant and Beal have only played one full game together, Dec. 13 vs. Brooklyn.

Beal hurt his ankle in the Suns' next game against New York as the x-rays were negative.

Josh Okogie (ankle) remains questionable for Friday's game while Damion Lee (knee) hasn't played this season.
