Bears trade for Patriots WR N’Keal Harry

The Chicago Bears have added a new weapon for quarterback Justin Fields. The Bears traded for New England Patriots wide receiver N’Keal Harry, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo.

Per Rapoport, Chicago sent a 2024 seventh-round selection to New England in terms of compensation.

Harry is a former first-round selection by the Patriots in the 2019 NFL draft. There were reports that indicated New England and Harry were headed for a breakup ahead of training camp.

After all, the Patriots now have a strong receiving group and Harry hasn’t lived up to his first-round billing. In three seasons with New England, Harry has totaled 57 receptions for 598 yards and four touchdowns. But perhaps a change of scenery is what Harry needs.

Harry joins a wide receiver group that’s rather unproven behind Darnell Mooney, who’s the team’s top wideout heading into the 2022 season. The Bears added plenty of new names to the roster, including notably veterans Byron Pringle and Equanimeous St. Brown in free agency and rookie Velus Jones Jr. in the NFL draft.
