'The Bachelor' meets ESPN: Jordan Rodgers fills in for Jesse Palmer on ND vs. Louisville

Jesse Palmer is a man of many talents. Between hosting the Bachelor franchise and his work in the studio as a color analyst for ESPN, Palmer is all over TV screens, all year-round.

But some weeks, those duties conflict. And the Week 6 college football schedule was one of them. Palmer typically works with Joe Tessitore and Katie George as one of ESPN's college football broadcast teams, and this week their group was given the primetime assignment of No. 11 Notre Dame at No. 25 Louisville.

Palmer, however, is off in Spain filming for the upcoming season of "The Bachelor," rendering him unable to call the game.

And who could have been more fitting to take his place than fellow Bachelor franchise alum Jordan Rodgers, a contestant on Joelle Fletcher's season of "The Bachelorette" back in 2016?

Rodgers is also a former Vanderbilt quarterback who started 18 games across the 2011 and 2012 seasons during James Franklin's tenure as coach. He made his primetime ESPN debut as the color analyst for the Fighting Irish's matchup with the Cardinals. He married Fletcher in 2022 after six years together and primarily works as a color analyst and studio host for the SEC Network.

Palmer played college football at the University of Florida under Steve Spurrier from 1997-2000. Palmer played four seasons for the New York Giants, primarily as the backup quarterback, and was named "The Bachelor" in 2004 for Season 5. Palmer started his role as Bachelor franchise host in 2022 and has since hosted "The Bachelor," "The Bachelorette," "Bachelor in Paradise" and "The Golden Bachelor."
