Anthony Davis takes responsibility for Lakers’ loss to Jazz

Over the last several weeks, Los Angeles Lakers superstar big man Anthony Davis has been playing some outstanding basketball. He came into Saturday’s game at the Utah Jazz averaging 29.1 points, 11.0 rebounds and 2.3 blocks while shooting 59.8% from the field and 39.3% from 3-point range in his last 15 games.

But against the Jazz, he had his worst offensive outing of the season by going 5-of-21 and scoring just 15 points in a 132-125 loss.

Davis has many critics who claim he never takes any responsibility and is a soft, lazy malingerer. But after Saturday’s loss, he didn’t mince words as he said the loss was his fault.

He did have a triple-double by grabbing 15 rebounds and dishing off 11 assists while also blocking four shots. But he missed a number of close shots that he often makes, and it simply wasn’t his night.

Give credit to the Jazz for throwing multiple defenders at him and not allowing him to easily get deep post position.
