Ashville takes down West Limestone

Game 1: Ashville 6, West Limestone 5

Game 2: West Limestone 7, Ashville 4

Game 3: Ashville 15, West Limestone 5

After winning the area for the first time in 20 years, the Bulldogs kept the good vibes going with a first-round win over West Limestone. After splitting games on Friday the Bulldogs came out swinging on Saturday with a big win. Jaden Harris and Justin Henderson had three RBIs. In Game 1, Dylan Layfield shined with eight strikeouts in a four-hit complete game.

Boaz falls to Leeds

Game 1: Leeds 3, Boaz 1

Game 2: Boaz 4, Leeds 2

Game 3: Leeds 10, Boaz 1

A monster game to in what became his final high school game, Tyler Pierce pushed Boaz to a winner take all game three with an 11-strikeout, two-run complete game. The Pirates fell in game three, but without Pierce's heroics, throwing 109 pitches, Boaz could've seen their season end a day earlier. Bradyn Bennett brought in two RBIs in the series.

Collinsville sweeps Altamont

Coosa Christian takes down Hubbertville

Game 1: Hubbertville 2, Coosa Chr. 1

Game 2: Coosa Chr. 11, Hubbertville 1

Game 3: Coosa Chr. 5, Hubbertville 4

It took a moment for the Conquerors bats to wake up but once they did there was little to do to stop them, taking a gentlemen's sweep from Hubbertville. Brody Nelson had a gusty five inning performance in the second game to help them advance, while Renn Gladden cleaned up with six strikeouts in the eight inning marathon game three. John David Justus had seven strikeouts in game one and two crucial RBIs in game three.

Etowah sweeps White Plains

Game 1: Etowah 11, White Plains 1

Game 2: Etowah 12, White Plains 2

The Class 4A defending state champions entered the playoffs and made a statement in a first-round dismantling of White Plains. Slade St. Clair had two RBIs in the first game and added two more in the second game to lead the series. The pitching was strong with three pitchers combining for 10 innings, allowing two runs and striking out eight batters.

Fyffe sweeps Locust Fork

Glencoe swept by Lauderdale County

Game 1: Lauderdale County 5, Glencoe 4

Game 2: Lauderdale County 4, Glencoe 1

The Yellow Jackets season ends at 16-18.

Piedmont sweeps Sylvania

Plainview sweeps Walter Welborn

Sardis sweeps Moody

Game 1: Sardis 18, Moody 3

Game 2: Sardis 11, Moody 0

Behind a strong start from Blaze Gerhart, the Lions got off to a great start in the first game of the playoffs with Carson Gillilan's bat being a major factor with three RBIs on two runs scored on three hits. Russ Wiggs had a strong day with three runs scored on two RBIs.

Southside gets pass Arab

Game 1: Arab 7, Southside 6

Game 2: Southside 5, Arab 4

Game 3: Southside 5, Arab 2

Southside was on its way to way to a game one win, but allowed five runs in the bottom of the seventh and was walked off. They rebounded as well as a coach can ask dominating the next two games and advancing into the second round. Angelo Alberghina had two RBIs in each of the first two games, being a major factor. Trey Frachiseur shut down the Knights in game three allowing on five hits.

Westbrook Christian sweeps Elkmont

Game 1: Westbrook 7, Elkmont 2

Game 2: Westbrook 19, Elkmont 0

Seventeen straight area titles parlayed into 17 straight second round appearances for the Warriors and the latest came via a dominant Thursday, never giving visiting Elkmont a chance. Dylan Rainey got it started with an eight strikeout performance in game one while Braden Kay sat down six batters in game two. Noah Wright led the way with four RBIs while a host of Warriors got multiple RBIs in game two.
