52 athletes to watch from Franklin County this winter season
The winter season got going this past weekend, and it should be a fun one here in Franklin County.
Plenty of teams and athletes that could be contending for conference, district and even state gold when the season is all set and done.
To get you ready, here are 52 names in alphabetical order across basketball, wrestling and swimming to keep an eye on this winter.
Boys' basketball
Logan Alvey (Greencastle-Antrim)

Mason Fogelsonger (Shippensburg)
JJ Kelly (Chambersburg): The talented junior led the Trojans to a major upset in round one of the PIAA Tournament last year, knocking off powerhouse Plymouth Whitemarsh. Chambersburg did lose some key seniors but Kelly should continue to grow and become one of the best players in the region.

Jackson Stought (Shippensburg): The Greyhounds made the postseason last year, and a big reason was the strong perimeter shooting of guys like Stought. Continuing that trend could make Shippensburg a tough out this season.

Conner Wright (Greencastle-Antrim): Expectations are high for the Blue Devils with many returning faces like Wright, who was a Colonial first-team selection a season ago.

Haley Noblit (Greencastle-Antrim): One of the top players in the area, Noblit will no doubt shoulder more responsibility this season with the loss of some key seniors. The Colonial first-team selection look to defend its squad's District 3 title from a season ago.
