25 WNC girls soccer players to watch as 2024 NCHSAA, NCISAA playoffs begin

It's the final week of the regular season in WNC girls soccer, and playoffs start next week.

Western North Carolina has a wealth of talent this season, including WNC's all-time leading goal scorer, and many of the area's NCHSAA and NCISAA teams are looking for a deep playoff run.

Here are 25 WNC girls soccer players to watch during 2024 playoffs.

Holly Lanter, Asheville Christian Academy, Sr.: Lanter leads the Lions with 18 goals.

Lily Foo, Asheville High, Sr.: Foo has recorded 19 goals and seven assists.

Peyton Case, Asheville High, So.: Case has 16 goals and eight assists through 19 games.

Carolina Bridges, Asheville School, Sr.: Asheville School's leading scorer has 10 goals, including four in the first round of the NCISAA playoffs.

Lily Flores, Avery County, So.: Flores has scored 25 goals to lead the Western Highlands Conference.

Caitlin Shapiro, Avery County, Fr.: In her first season, Shapiro has scored 16 goals and contributed to 10 more.

Nora Felty, Brevard, So.: Felty has helped power Brevard's offense with 27 goals and 15 assists.

Charley Goodwin, Brevard, Fr.: The forward has been the second half of the Blue Devils' 1-2 punch, with 27 goals of her own and seven assists.

Lily Rogers, Brevard, Sr.: Rogers has provided 16 assists on top of scoring 11 goals.

Abby Huter, Brevard, Jr.: The goalkeeper recorded nine shutout wins and has made 110 saves to only 16 goals allowed.

Maggie Bish, Hendersonville, Sr.: Bish powered Hendersonville to a Mountain 7 Foothills championship with 16 goals and eight assists in her 14 games.

Amber Hernandez, Madison, Sr.: Hernandez has scored 23 goals and recorded nine assists, leading the Patriots to a conference title.

Lailee Holloway, Murphy, Sr.: Holloway is the leading goal scorer in the Smoky Mountain Conference with 33 goals.

Emma Ledford, Murphy, Sr.: The Bulldogs' keeper has allowed fewer than one goal per game while saving 90% of shots faced.

Claire Rhoden, Reynolds, Jr.: Rhoden has recorded 12 shutouts and made 66 saves, allowing fewer than a goal per game.

Aria Giles, Roberson, Fr.: Roberson's freshman midfielder has produced 16 goals and seven assists.

Kate Pratt, Roberson, Jr.: Pratt leads the Mountain Athletic Conference with 22 goals while adding 13 assists.

Shayne Pratt, Roberson, Sr.: Pratt has tallied 15 goals and nine assists.

Mya Burrows-Kurr, Swain County, Jr.: The Maroon Devils' leading scorer has produced 27 goals and 15 assists in 16 games.

Karena Cline, Swain County, Jr.: Cline has recorded 11 goals and assisted on 18 more.

Gracie Rinker, Tuscola, Jr.: The forward has 13 goals and five assists.

Julia Wells, Tuscola, Fr.: The goalkeeper has a .793 goals-against average. She has saved 84 shots and given up just nine goals.

Catherine Barton, West Henderson, Sr.: Barton has 17 goals and 11 assists.

Rhylie Druskis, West Henderson, Jr.: Druskis has been the Falcons' second option all season, scoring 18 goals with 10 assists.

Marianne Maxon, West Henderson, Sr.: Western North Carolina's all-time leading goal scorer has dominated again this season with 41 goals and 29 assists.
