2023 LSU Tigers Snapshot Profile: No. 33 West Weeks
Going into the 2023 football season, LSU Wire will be looking at each player listed on the Tigers’ roster.
Over the preseason, each profile will cover where the player is from, how recruiting websites rated them coming out of high school, and what role they will play for Brian Kelly this season.
We’re looking at another member of the linebacker corps in West Weeks, a junior who transferred in from Virginia last season. Weeks saw a rotational role last fall while appearing in all 14 games, and the LSU legacy will push for more playing time alongside his younger brother, true freshman linebacker Whit Weeks.

Depth Chart Overview
A three-star athlete coming out of Oconee County High School, Weeks committed to Virginia in May 2020 and made things official by signing the following December.
During his first season with UVA, he appeared in 11 games and made one start, totaling respectable production in the form of 31 tackles, a sack and five pass breakups. It was an impressive campaign, and he was sure to see increased reps in 2022.
But Cavaliers coach Bronco Mendenhall surprisingly resigned following the season, and with the uncertainty surrounding the program’s future, Weeks elected to enter the transfer portal.
He landed at LSU, where he had to play behind some veterans last season and turned in similar production while coming in as a rotational player. He’ll likely be a backup once again this fall, but he’ll push for even more playing time as a key depth piece.
