Utah has lost another prominent player to a season-ending injury.

Sophomore running back Armand Shyne will miss the remainder of the season with an unspecified injury, the program confirmed Monday. Shyne, the team’s leading rusher, was hurt in the fourth quarter of Saturday night’s win over Arizona.

In six games, Shyne put up 373 yards and four touchdowns on 78 carries. Before his injury, Shyne had a career-high 101 yards and a touchdown against the Wildcats. In its game notes for the upcoming contest against Oregon State, the program said it hopes to have freshman Zack Moss back from injury. Moss, who has 309 yards rushing on the season, did not play against Arizona.

Behind Moss, Utah said, is redshirt freshman Marcel Manalo, who made his collegiate debut against Arizona. Two other running backs, Troy McCormick and Jordan Howard, are also injured. Joe Williams, the Utes’ starting running back when the season began, decided to retire from football in September.

Shyne is now the fifth starter out for the year for Utah, joining linemen J.J. Dielman and Hiva Lutui, tight end Siale Fakailoatonga and defensive end Kylie Fitts.

Utah improved to 5-1 with the win over Arizona.

In other injury news, Colorado State announced freshman quarterback Collin Hill is out for the year. Hill suffered a torn ACL in Saturday’s win over Utah State. Hill replaced Nick Stevens as starter early in the year and threw for 1,096 yards, eight touchdowns and two interceptions.

With Hill out, Stevens moves back into the starting lineup. Despite his struggles this year, Stevens has plenty of experience. He was a second team All-Mountain West selection in 2015, throwing for 2,679 yards, 21 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Stevens was initially replaced by Faton Bauta before Hill moved to the top of the depth chart.

Colorado State improved to 3-3 with the win over USU and travel to face No. 15 Boise State.
