UFC Fight Night 67: Condit vs. Alves Low Attendance Reflects on Brazilian Economic Crisis
UFC officials announced that UFC Fight Night 67: Condit vs. Alves drew 3,500 spectators at the Goiânia Arena in Goiânia, Brazil, during the event’s post-fight press conference on Saturday.
The attendance was low and likely a result of an economic downswing in Brazil.
“We know that Brazil is going through an economic crisis, first of all, so I think that reflects in all of the areas of the economy and it ends up reflecting here in our events,” said UFC Senior Vice President and General Manager of Brazil Giovani Luis Decker.

While attendance for UFC Fight Night 67 may not have reached expectations, Decker explained that the UFC and mixed martial arts are growing in Brazil.
“On the other hand, the pay-pre-view sales and package sales, we’re reaching historic numbers. So if one end of the event didn’t reach it, MMA is still hitting record numbers and the UFC is still doing great on the other side. We’re still doing very well,” he said.
Fourth-ranked welterweight Carlos Condit returned to action for the first time in fourteen months and defeated twelfth-ranked Thiago Alves in the fight card’s main attraction.
