Vikings RBs Peterson, Gerhart inactive

Minnesota Vikings running backs Adrian Peterson and Toby Gerhart are inactive for Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles because of injuries.

Peterson pushed to play but the team decided to sit him and Gerhardt.

Peterson has a right foot sprain and Gerhart has a hamstring strain. Both players were injured last week against the Baltimore Ravens.

Matt Asiata is the third running back on the team's depth chart and the Vikings promoted Joe Banyard from the practice squad Saturday.

Peterson has rushed for 1,221 yards with 10 touchdowns in 13 games this season. Gerhart had 89 yards on 15 carries with a touchdown against Baltimore.
