Joey Beltran Returns to Face James Te Huna at UFC on Fuel 4

A move to a new weight class and an opening at UFC on Fuel TV 4 have brought Joey Beltran back to the UFC.

The former heavyweight will meet James Te Huna in a light heavyweight bout on July 11 in San Jose, Calif. He replaces Brandon Vera, who was pulled from the fight to move over to UFC on Fox 4 to face Mauricio “Shogun” Rua.

Beltran made the announcement via his Twitter account on Monday.

“Back in the UFC vs. James Te Huna July 11. Let's do this!” he wrote.

The California based fighter was always known for his toughness inside the Octagon, but just couldn't string together consecutive victories after winning his first two fights in the UFC in 2010.

Over his last five fights, Beltran went 1-4 and was released, but following his last loss he decided to make the move down to 205 pounds and see how light heavyweight treated him instead.

Beltran picked up a win over Anton Talamantes back in April and will now get the chance to return to the UFC to face James Te Huna at UFC on Fuel TV 4 coming up in July.
