Illinois-Chicago 81, Roosevelt 43

Hayden Humes scored 21 points and Illinois-Chicago ran away from Roosevelt early in an 81-43 victory on Wednesday.

After the visiting Lakers (7-4) pulled to within 12-8 on a Kyle Miklasz jumper with 13:17 to play in the first half, the Flames (7-1) went on a 22-4 run to end the first half up 34-12. UIC didn't let up after intermission, finishing with its second-highest point total of the season.

Daniel Barnes and Gary Talton had 11 points each and Ahman Fells also finished in double figures with 10 points for the Flames, which won its sixth game in a row since a 66-59 loss to New Mexico on Nov. 16. Ten different UIC players scored, and the Flames finished with 22 assists on their 29 made baskets. The team went 10 of 23 from three-point range, led by Humes' 5 of 6 performance from long range.

Jeremiah Jackson had a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds for Roosevelt, an NAIA school in Chicago which turned the ball over 16 times and shot just 18 of 61 (29.5 percent) from the field.
