Diego Brandao Out of TUF Brazil 3 Finale, Fight Scrapped from Card

There will still be two fight cards on May 31, but one less fight.

Diego Brandao has suffered an injury and has been forced out of his TUF Brazil 3 Finale fight with Brian Ortega, UFC officials announced on Monday.

A replacement opponent will not be sought for Ortega, officials wrote in a statement. The details for Brandao's injury were not disclosed.

Brandao was looking to get back on the winning track with the upcoming finale, having dropped his last outing to Dustin Poirier by knockout at UFC 168 last December. The loss stopped a three-fight winning streak.

Ortega was set to make his UFC debut with the TUF Brazil 3 Finale. Details about when the fighter will be booked again to debut were not announced.

The TUF Brazil 3 Finale is scheduled to take place at the Ibirapuera Arena in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and is headlined by a fight between Stipe Miocic and Fabio Maldonado. The card takes place the same day as UFC Fight Night 41 in Germany.
