Pacers agree to deal with Vogel

The Pacers went 20-18 under Frank Vogel as interim coach

Frank Vogel is returning to the Indiana Pacers as their full-time coach.

The Pacers reached agreement with Vogel on a three-year contract, league sources said. The third season includes trigger and incentive clauses and some guaranteed money.

Vogel served as the Pacers' interim coach after the Pacers fired Jim O'Brien at the end of January. The Pacers went 20-18 under Vogel and qualified for the playoffs, where they lost a competitive first-round series to the Chicago Bulls.

Vogel, 38, is the league's youngest head coach. The Pacers plan to hire former Los Angeles Lakers assistant Brian Shaw to be the lead assistant on Vogel's staff.
