Injured Vonn Wins Title Without Competing

Olympic gold medalist Lindsey Vonn won her sixth straight World Cub downhill title on Wednesday. And if you're a little foggy as to how that happened, considering she suffered a season-ending knee injury five weeks ago, the answer is, well, foggy.

Vonn was just one point ahead of Slovenian Tina Maze in the standings heading into the final race of the season in Switzerland, but that race was cancelled due to heavy fog. Which left Maze still one point shy of the top spot and making Vonn the season champ in that discipline once again.

Every win counts for the Los Angeles Lakers as they fight to make the playoffs. And trailing by two points in the final seconds Wednesday in Atlanta, Kobe Bryant took the final shot. Not only did he miss and the Lakers lost, he also went down with a severe left ankle sprain and will be out indefinitely. Talk about a bad night for the Lakers!
