Ricardo Fernandes scores with scorpion kick volley in Cyprus

Portuguese midfielder Ricardo Fernandes produced a goal of the year contender in a Cypriot First Division match between Doxa and Alki. The 34-year-old made the most of a cross into the box that was just behind him by backheeling it with a mini scorpion kick to float a perfect shot just inside the far post.

Fernandes himself even seemed a bit shocked that it actually worked, but with that goal, Doxa made the score 1-1 just before halftime in a match that eventually ended in a 2-2 draw. Regardless of that result though, Ricardo Fernandes is the winner here.
