Vote now: Force AHL team to wear LA Kings’ infamous Burger King jersey

During the 1990s when NHL teams went third jersey crazy, the Los Angeles Kings provided the world with one of the more memorable designs. The Burger King look that even Wayne Gretzky wore during his time as a King lasted just one season, but they live in infamy all these years later.

Almost 20 years after they made their NHL debut, there is a chance the Burger King jerseys could find their way back on to the ice during a professional hockey game.

Some time in January 2014, the Kings' AHL affiliate, the Manchester Monarchs, will hold a Los Angeles Kings Night and to help honor their parent club, the team will wear jerseys once worn by the 2012 Stanley Cup champions. Check out Option B:

Yes, it's the Burger King jersey. Rock the vote.

On the Monarchs website, fans can vote for one of the three options and the winning choice will be worn by the team in January. Afterward, the game-worn jerseys will be auctioned off to benefit the Monarchs Care Foundation.

The winner will be announced on Thursday.

You will obviously click that link and vote B because there is no reason why they shouldn't see the light of day once again. The Burger King look has been kept alive thanks to The Royal Half's effort to organize an appreciation night during a Kings game each season, but to see them back on the ice in 2013 is something we must come together and make happen.

Vote B here.
