Jordan Nolan’s sucker punch on Jesse Joensuu earns phone hearing (Video)

The Los Angeles Kings won their seventh game in a row Sunday night with a 4-2 win over the Edmonton Oilers. They'll go for their eighth Monday night against the Calgary Flames likely missing one of their regular forwards.

Late in the second period, after LA has built up a three-goal lead, a scrum ensued in front of Jonathan Quick and Oilers forward Jesse Joensuu shoved Drew Doughty. Jordan Nolan took exception, grabbing Joensuu, then delivering two punches to his head:

Nolan was assessed a double minor for roughing and will likely see supplemental discipline as the NHL Department of Player Safety announced that they will have a phone hearing with him on Monday.

As NHL executives gather in Boca Raton, Florida this week for the annual GM meetings, Brendan Shanahan and his crew can pretty much tell Nolan he'll be sitting for 2-3 games in between holes on the golf course. This one is easy.
