Greg Biffle hoping for a rebound in 2016

Unsurprisingly, Roush Fenway Racing was optimistic about turning its fortunes around in 2016. Greg Biffle was the team's highest-ranking driver in 2015 at 20th in the points standings. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. was 25th and Trevor Bayne was 29th.

It was the first time since 1996 that Roush didn't have a win.

Biffle has a new crew chief this season. Brian Pattie, formerly with Michael Waltrip Racing, will be atop Biffle's pit box.

"We have a bunch of new people on board, including Brian Pattie and a lot of people don’t know that I have worked with him in the past and we won a couple of races together in the short amount of time we spent working together," Biffle said Wednesday. "I am excited to have him back on board and possibly bring some technology over from another team which gives us an opportunity to get an outside look and we are always trying to learn something setup wise or how they run a shop and build a car"

Biffle was 16th and 18th at Kentucky and Darlington, the two low-downforce races in the Cup Series. Bayne was 13th at Kentucky and Stenhouse finished 11th there.

"We were trending in the right direction at the end of 2015 and we know with these changes we will continue that," Biffle said. The low downforce was two of our best races in the Cup Series for Trevor, Ricky and myself, we all ran good at Kentucky and Darlington and that will be the package for 2016 so we think that will be good for us.”
