Dale Earnhardt Jr. forgot Ryan Newman was flying with him to Michigan
NASCAR drivers sometimes plane-pool to tracks. It makes sense; if you're going to the same place as a bunch of people you know in a car, you carpool, right?
Apparently Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Ryan Newman had a plane-pool arrangement on Junior's plane to go to Michigan on Friday. But Junior forgot.
Weekend started off on wrong foot. Left @RyanJNewman at the airport. Forgot he was riding with us. Imma pay for this one.

I'm hoping and praying that the reason @RyanJNewman isn't responding to my text are because he is at 40,000 feet. Please be at 40,000 feet.

Mike Hoag, who works for JR Motorsports, got this text from Newman.
This is the text I received this morning from @RyanJNewman when we were in air, halfway to Michigan. 🙈#WeOweYouOne pic.twitter.com/Sy2s3WfJqV

It looks like Newman wasn't stranded, however.
@DaleJr he should be. @DaleJarrett had a plane heading up.

You know how superstitious people in sports can be. If Newman wins this week, he may be asking Junior to leave him at the airport every week. OK, probably not, but it'd be a hilarious new tradition if it happened.
