Yahoo Cup PGA DFS Picks: The Memorial Tournament

Looking for a way to learn PGA DFS without jumping in with both feet? We have a perfect solution for you. This year, Yahoo and Yahoo Fantasy are offering a $10,000 freeroll called the PGA “Yahoo Cup.” This contest awards a winner for weekly events and one winner at the end of the season who has the most cumulative points. That winner will receive $1,000. Ultimately, winning the Yahoo Cup comes down to picking the right golfers. Today I will provide my top three value PGA DFS picks based on Yahoo salary, a couple of lineup fill-ins and two different lineup variations for building lineups this week at The Memorial Tournament.

New to PGA DFS? Awesemo is the only site with projections from the No. 1 daily fantasy player in the world. We also have loads of free content, including grades, rankings, leverage scores and comprehensive articles like The Winning Element. Transparency Corner

Right or wrong, it’s important to keep track of how the picks performed the week prior. Here are the players and my corresponding lineup from the Charles Schwab Challenge.

  • Richy Werenski (45th)

  • Joel Dahmen (Missed Cut)

  • Gary Woodland (14th)

Top Three Values for The Memorial Tournament

Emiliano Grillo ($29)

A favorite of seemingly everyone on the Awesemo daily fantasy golf team, Grillo is now finding a putting a stoke. With that comes excellent results, as his iron play is one of the best in the game right now. His salary at $29 is very reasonable and well below average, making him a good first click in most lineups.

Christiaan Bezuidenhout ($28)

It has been quite a breakout year for Bezuidenhout, having not missed a cut on the PGA Tour all year. A couple of really rough finishing holes a few weeks ago in Kiawah pushed a solid three days back to a tie for 3oth, but that was another solid performance. Pairing him with Grillo and someone at the minimum salary should create room to get just about any other three golfers this week.

Aaron Wise ($20)

Wise is the minimum-salary golfer to hitch wagons to this week. His putter has been one of the worst on tour this year, but everything else has looked good or even great at times. There are a few other names in this range that work, including Doug Ghim, but Wise has been in very good form lately.

PGA DFS Yahoo Cup Lineup Fill-ins

  • Gary Woodland ($30)

  • Collin Morikawa ($44)

  • Jon Rahm ($46)

PGA DFS Yahoo Cup Lineup Builds

Aggressive Build

Using both Ghim and Wise and either Grillo or Bezuidenhout will open up a ton of three-person stud combinations. Using Rahm as that fourth guy opens the door up as well, skipping out on the higher salaries of Bryson DeChambeau and Justin Thomas.

Conservative Build

Using just Wise at the minimum salary and aiming for a more balanced build still allows for at least two favorite golfers. Add in maybe another golfer in this $29 to $30 salary range. There are plenty of appealing golfers in that range this week, including Gary Woodland.
