Williams on his commitment, more

When Class of 2020 forward Terrance Williams committed to Georgetown in late July, the Hoya Nation was abuzz with excitement. Being ranked 90th nationally and slotted a four star athlete by Rivals.com, Williams has starred at Gonzaga College High School (DC) and on the EYBL travel team circuit with Team Takeover, positioning him as one of head coach Pat Ewing's most highly regarded recruits.

Williams is certainly Ewing's premier District-Maryland-Virginia recruiting area lure. Mining and protecting it's talent loaded DMV home base is imperative for Ewing et al, thereby stocking the program with good players and providing a turbocharge for Georgetown's re-ascendance to college basketball elite status.

G'Town bested Michigan, Stanford, Notre Dame, North Carolina State, South Carolina and DePaul in landing Williams.

"I feel like Pat Ewing can develop me best there. I feel like I fit into their system best there compared to all the options that I had" shared Williams during last month's Team Takeover Picnic. Additionally Terrance values the program's direction, while also lauding the recruiting work of Ewing and assistant coach Akbar Waheed, "who called me everyday" thereby establishing strong relationships with him.

The session touched upon: Feelings about Georgetown, how Michigan got into the race late, the work of Gamecock assistant Bruce Singler, a likely position in Blue and Gray, preparing for a final high school season and related expectations, his personal hoops journey, plus feelings about Gonzaga head coach Steve Turner and Takeover chief Keith Stevens
