Why was Georgia football star TE Brock Bowers hanging out with 'The Rock' in Hollywood?

NASHVILLE — Brock Bowers may not be the biggest talker, but the Georgia football junior tight end’s portfolio as a pitchman in the era of name, image and likeness continues to grow.

The All-American was back in his home state of California last weekend where he did a photo shoot with movie star “The Rock” and six other college athletes.

They are “Rock’s Warriors,” for ZOA Energy drink. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is co-founder and “chief energy officer.” He's a former Miami defensive lineman and wrestling star.

Bowers already has NIL deals through ESM, his marketing agency, with NOBULL apparel, Associated Credit Union, Fanatics, Dicks’s Sporting Goods and Elliott International, an Atlanta-based executive staffing company.

The ZOA Energy campaign says that “each athlete was carefully chosen by Johnson for their optimism, enthusiasm, and commitment to striving for something bigger.”

Bowers will take part in marketing the sports drink and sharing content across social media platforms.

Georgia coach Kirby Smart challenged reporters Tuesday at SEC Media Days to get more than three sentences out of Bowers.

The Napa, Calif., native is trying to be more vocal in the locker room.

“One of the things I'm trying to do better at is be a better leader,” he said. “Because now I'm the old guy in the room somehow, and I feel like time flew by and I feel like just yesterday, I was sitting in the same seat as those freshmen. It's a little nerve-wracking for those guys. So I'm trying to help those guys best I can and lead by example, and I guess just maybe try to be a better vocal leader and say something when something needs to be said.”
