Who's winning the CWS Jell-O Shot Challenge? LSU fans running away with competition in Omaha

The College World Series is back in Omaha, and so is Rocco's CWS Jell-O Shot Challenge.

The white-board "competition" for the eight fan bases of the College World Series teams was started in 2018 at Rocco's Pizza & Cantina in Omaha, which is located a few steps outside the first base line seats at Charles Schwab Field. Last year, Ole Miss fans won the competition with a total of 18,777 Jell-O shots, 10,000 more than second place Arkansas.

The bar keeps the public updated on Twitter via @CWSShotBoard, with the white board in the order of when teams earned a berth into the CWS last week. A portion of the proceeds from the purchased shots go to a local food bank and to food banks in the communities of the College World Series schools, the bar said on Twitter.

This year, the shot price is up 50 cents to $5 and the totals continue to rise. Rocco's said Friday that the shot totals are the highest they've ever been through the first day of the CWS.

LSU fans, as of 6 p.m. Saturday, lead the competition with 5.712 shots. Tennessee fans rank sixth out of eight teams, nearly 5,000 shots behind the fans of the Vols' Saturday night opponent.

Here's hoping Rocco's hasn't run out of Jell-O, given that the tournament continues through June 26.
