This Week in Eddy County Sports: Carlsbad High School swim teams near end of season

The regular season is winding down for the Carlsbad High School swim teams as the district and state meets await next month.

Swim teams head to Albuquerque

Friday and Saturday at Academy High School, the Cavemen and Cavegirls compete in the Academy Invitational.

The swim teams resumed action Jan. 13 at the Artesia Invitational after taking nearly a month off for Christmas break.

Cavemen basketball road trip continues

At 7 p.m. Tuesday at Lovington High School, Carlsbad faces the Wildcats in the second game of a four-game road trip.

The long trip ends Friday and Saturday with a pair of games in Las Cruces against Organ Mountain High School and Centennial High School.

Cavegirls travel and are at home this week

Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Lovington High School, Carlsbad faces the Lady Wildcats. Friday and Saturday the Cavegirls are home for a pair of games against Las Cruces Mayfield and Las Cruces Centennial.

Wrestling teams travel for meets this week

At 5 p.m. Thursday at Roswell High School, the Cavemen and Cavegirl wrestling teams square off with the Coyotes and Lady Coyotes at the Roswell Dual.

Friday and Saturday at Albuquerque St. Pius, both teams participate in the Sartan Scuffle.

Loving Falcons basketball travels for three-day tournament

Thursday at Dexter High School, the Falcons play in the Demon Tournament. Loving was home for a pair of games last week against the Artesia High School junior varsity and New Mexico Military Institute.

Lady Falcons on road later this week

At 6 p.m. Friday at Dexter High School, Loving plays the Lady Demons. Next week the Lady Falcons travel to Tularosa for a three-day tournament.

Artesia Bulldogs travel north again

On Thursday at Albuquerque Hope Christian, Artesia plays in the three-day Hope Christian Tournament.

Last week, the Bulldogs were in Taos participating in the North-South Shootout.

Artesia Lady Dogs away from the Bulldog Pit this week

Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Chaparral High School, Artesia squares off against the Lobos.

Thursday through Saturday, Artesia travels to Albuquerque for the Hope Christian Tournament.

Artesia High School bowling at home this week

At 6 p.m. Friday at Artesia Lanes, the Bulldog and Lady Bulldog bowling teams participate in the Dan Harvey Invitational.

Saturday at Artesia Lanes, both teams host the Bulldog Invitational. The regular season ends next week in Bernalillo.
