Week 8 NFL Power Rankings: Browns stand pat, Ravens and Eagles soar, 49ers slipping
What a week in the NFL. The Cleveland Browns took it down to the wire to beat the Indianapolis Colts, the Philadelphia Eagles and Baltimore Ravens both came away with impressive wins against other top teams in the NFL, and the San Francisco 49ers have now dropped their second game in a row. Now entering Week 8 of the 2023 season, how will this week’s NFL Power Rankings shake out as a result?
As the year has gone along, it is beginning to feel more and more like there is a great deal of bad and average teams and only a few that have the makings of legitimate contenders to win a Super Bowl. The Browns could very quickly find their way into that category if they find a way to muster up even average quarterback play from Deshaun Watson or whoever will be under center.

Carolina Panthers (0-6)

Arizona Cardinals (1-6)
They need Kyler Murray back on the field in a bad way.
Green Bay Packers (2-4)
The Jordan Love experience has not gone well.
Chicago Bears (2-5)
I did not see that one coming.
Denver Broncos (2-5)
Congrats on the win, Denver! You now round out the bottom five.
Las Vegas Raiders (3-4)
Boy, there are a lot of bad teams in the NFL this year.
Washington Commanders (3-4)

This team is tough to figure out. They’ve beaten some good teams and lost to some below-average units.

We are once again asking the Buccaneers to beat an actual good team.
Atlanta Falcons (4-3)
The Falcons still aren’t very good, but they’ve beat up on the NFC South and have a pretty easy schedule the rest of the way out.
Pittsburgh Steelers (4-2)
They cannot keep getting away with this.
New York Jets (3-3)
The Jets and the Browns are in quite similar situations: even average quarterback play and they are contenders.
Houston Texans (3-3)
They’ll continue to have their ups and downs, but the Texans are way ahead of schedule.
Dallas Cowboys (4-2)
One of the more confusing teams in the league, does anyone know what to do with the Cowboys?
Cincinnati Bengals (3-3)

Detroit Lions (5-2)
What an ugly, ugly loss they suffered on Sunday. How will they bounce back against a favorable schedule?
Jacksonville Jaguars (5-2)
Sitting at 5-2, the Jaguars haven’t made it look easy thus far.

Imagine where the Browns would be with a quarterback like Geno Smith.

You cannot come away from a win against the Dolphins feeling anything but impressed.
