Watertown Area Swim Club swimmers win 113 events in weekend meet

Thirty-seven Watertown Area Swim Club swimmers combined to record 113 first-place finishes Saturday and Sunday in the Optimist High Point Swim Meet in the Prairie Lakes Wellness Center.

Justine Kranz (11-12 girls) and Madelynne Storm (15-16 girls) each won eight events, Channing DeBoer (9-10 boys) and Sophia Kranz (13-14 girls) each seven and Zavier Kranz (15-16 boys) six for the Dolphins.

Simon Hendricks (15-16 boys), Edie Hoftiezer (7-8 girls) and Robert Johnson (U6 boys) each had five firsts and Auggie Brewster (7-8 boys), Caden Corey (11-12 boys), Jack Kreutner (7-8 boys) and McKoy Pereboom (11-12 boys) four apiece. Three-event winners were Burke Lauseng (17-19 boys), Ryan James Matthies (11-12 boys), Ian McAreavey (9-10 boys), Levi Peterson (13-14 boys) and Payton Storm (17-19 boys).

Zachary Haslem (15-16 boys), Gabriel Holzwarth (17-19 boys), Collins DeBoer (7-8 girls), McKenna Falak (15-16 girls), Dana Greenman (13-14 girls), Madison Haslem (9-10 girls), Abigail Highman (17-19 girls), Alina Smirnova (17-19 girls), Sydney Sparks (13-14 girls), Lydia Stemwedel (11-12 girls) and Kylie Tjaden (9-10 girls) each won two events.

Colton DeBoer (U6 boys), Jay McAreavey (11-12 boys), Kru Schaack (7-8 boys), Cooper Smith (9-10 boys), Kyra Carter (13-14 girls), Elise Henderson (7-8 girls), Sienna Schaunaman (11-12 girls), Alisa Smirnova (17-19 girls) and Molly Thorson (15-16 girls) also had wins.

Ten Dolphins topped the high-point standings in their divisions — Hoftiezer, Justine Kranz, Krantz, Madelynne Storm, Johnson, Kreutner, Channing DeBoer, Pereboom, Zavier Kranz and Payton Storm.
