Watertown boys among three area teams to also receive votes in the latest rankings

Five area teams are ranked this week in the South Dakota Prep Media basketball polls.

Sisseton (18-1, Class A) and Arlington (18-2, Class B) are each rated fourth in their respective girls divisions.

Castlewood (17-3) is still No. 1 in Class B boys, De Smet (17-3) No. 3 in Class B boys, Hamlin (17-3) No. 2 in Class A boys and Sioux Valley (18-2), No. 5 in Class A boys.

Watertown's boys (11-7 in AA) and Leola-Frederick's boys (18-1 in B) each also received votes this week along with Warner's girls (18-2 in B).

The state's Class A and B girls basketball teams open postseason play this week.

The South Dakota Prep Media basketball polls for the week of Feb. 19 are listed below, ranking the top-five teams in each class, record, total points and previous ranking. First-place votes received are indicated in parentheses.
