Top two teams in each region tourney advance to SoDak 16 state-qualifying games on Feb. 29
The quest to qualify for the state Class A and B girls basketball tournaments begins this week for area teams.
Area squads will compete in the Region 1B, 2B, 6B, 1A, 2A and 6A with the top two teams advancing to SoDak 16 state-qualifying matches on Thursday, Feb. 29.
Winners of the SoDak 16 games qualify for state tourneys March 7-9 at the Dacotah Bank Center in Brookings (Class A) and the Summit Arena at The Monument in Rapid City (Class B).
Here are the region pairings for area teams:
Region 1A
Tuesday — At Sisseton: No. 1 seed Sisseton (18-1) vs. No. 8 Tiospa Zina (1-19), 6 p.m. and No. 4 Milbank (11-9) vs. No. 5 Waubay-Summit (10-10), 7:30 p.m. At Aberdeen Roncalli: No. 7 Redfield (6-14) vs. No. 2 Aberdeen Roncalli (17-3), 6 p.m. and No. 3 Groton Area (13-7) vs. No. 6 Webster Area (7-13), 7:30 p.m.

Region 2A
Monday — No. 9 Deuel (6-14) vs. No. 8 Clark-Willow Lake (7-12), 7 p.m. in Willow Lake.
Tuesday — Deuel-Clark-Willow Lake winner at No. 1 Flandreau (20-0), 7 p.m.; No. 4 Sioux Valley (15-5) vs. No. 5 Great Plains Lutheran (15-5), 7 p.m.; No. 7 Estelline-Hendricks (11-9) at No. 7 Florence-Henry (15-5), 7 p.m. in Henry; and No. 6 Elkton-Lake Benton (13-7) at No. 3 Hamlin (13-7), 7 p.m. at the Hamlin Education Center.
Thursday — Semifinals at 7 p.m. at top remaining seeds.
Region 6A
