Watch: Steph Curry shows off crafty handles to get to the bucket for a layup vs. Trail Blazers

The Golden State Warriors’ home opener against the Portland Trail Blazers was all about the visitor in the first quarter. In the first 12 minutes, CJ McCollum tallied 16 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the field with four triples.

Derrick Jones Jr., Robert Covington and Jusuf Nurkic joined McCollum from beyond the arc, with each sinking in a triple to give Portland a 36-21 advantage in the opening quarter.

Although Portland played spoiler during Golden State’s first game at Chase Center in 2021, Steph Curry added a bucket to his early-season highlight reel.

With time ticking down in the first quarter, Curry drove by multiple members of the Blazers to finish a crazy layup at the rim. On his way to the bucket, Curry froze Enes Kanter at the 3-point line with a fierce hesitation move.

Curry finished the contest with 26 points for the Warriors on 9-of-20 shooting from the field with eight rebounds and five assists in 33 minutes against the Trail Blazers.
