Watch the NFL draft at these parties near the action in downtown Detroit
A number of restaurants, bars and districts in and around downtown Detroit are hosting NFL draft watch parties April 25-27.
The events boast live broadcasts of the draft, food and drink specials and even live entertainment.
Here's a sampling:
District Detroit
A free outdoor draft party is taking place on Columbia Street, the brick-lined, pedestrian-only area of The District Detroit. There will be a live broadcast of the draft, live music and food and drink specials from the bars and restaurants along the street. Restaurants include Frita Batidos, Jo Jo's Shakebar, Sahara and Union Assembly.
Where: Columbia Street between Woodward and Park avenues.
Detroit Shipping Co.
During all three days of the NFL draft, football fanatics and foodies are invited to join Midtown's Detroit Shipping Company as it offers drink specials, backyard games, raffles, music, an art gallery on the second floor, free parking and more. The food offered is from five Detroit Shipping Co. eateries: Bangkok 96, Momo Cha, Halal Street, Motorburger, and Minus 320.

Draft Day in the D Downtown Detroit Partnership
A three-day party will feature a live feed from the NFL draft with 10 20-foot video walls across five downtown parks. Festivities include live music, vendors and more than 35 food trucks spread out across five parks. The food truck lineup includes favorites such as Los Dos Amigos Taco Truck, Rolling Stoves, Slow's Bar BQ and Cousins Main Lobster.
Where: Capitol Park, Beacon Park, Paradise Valley Beatrice Buck Park, Grand Circus Park West and Grand Circus Park East.
Experience Zuzu
Steps from Campus Martius Park, Experience Zuzu is hosting an NFL draft bash, 11 a.m. until late night Friday-Saturday. There will be celebrity DJs, a 150-inch video wall for live draft viewing and Zuzu menu items, including hand-rolled sushi, appetizers and wok-fired dishes. Tickets start at $150.

Firebird Tavern
At Firebird Tavern, the Detroit Draft Festival will include a three-day tent party throughout the draft. The outdoor and indoor event will welcome guests to view the NFL draft from inside the restaurant or a heated tent. Beer, wine and spirits will be available, as will dishes from a fleet of food trucks for this 21-and-over event. Tickets start at $5.

Greektown
In a two-block area of historic Greektown, the Greektown Tailgate celebrates the NFL draft with live music, sports viewing, games, food and drinks. The free event takes place noon-midnight all three days of the draft. A main stage will host 19 bands; the DJ stage will feature 12 local Detroit DJs and highlight Detroit's electronic music and dance scene. Adding to Greektown’s restaurant scene will be food trucks Egg Roll Diva and Galindo’s Mexican.

Lumen Detroit
The crown jewel of Detroit’s Beacon Park, Lumen Detroit is a hot spot year-round. But the modern American restaurant a half-mile from Campus Martius will be even more of a draw during the NFL draft. Beacon Park will stream the draft on two 20-foot video walls with entertainment, food trucks and drinks all provided by Lumen Detroit.

Old Shillelagh
Billed as its biggest party yet, the Old Shillelagh's Blitz Bash will take place over three days on three floors with four stages of live performances, two tents, 10 bars and TVs for NFL draft viewing all around.

Siren Hotel
The Siren is hosting a big bash that’ll take over the hotel with a special tailgate menu, live DJ sets and a vintage clothing pop-up April 25. At the top of the hotel, Ash Bar has invited Side Biscuit, a popular Ann Arbor chicken-and-biscuit joint to deliver a menu of Buffalo wings, Brogarashi wings — chicken wings in an umami seven-spice dry rub — pizza logs and fries from 3 p.m.-10 p.m. There will also be happy hour deals on drinks from 3 p.m.-6 p.m.

Supergeil
On Thursday, the first day of the draft, Corktown restaurant Supergeil will host a watch party featuring live music, local vendors and craft-inspired food and beverages. From 4 p.m.-10 p.m. on the patio, guests can expect the same traditional bites offered during football season, with the Mediterranean and Eastern European flavors Supergeil is known for. The restaurant’s sister distillery Two James will offer spirits, while Ann Arbor-based Mothfire Brewing Co. and Ladder 4 Wine Bar will provide beer and wine, respectively. The soul-funk DJ duo Chances With Wolves will spin music for the evening. The event is free.
