How to watch Commanders vs. Patriots: Time, TV and streaming options for Week 9

The Washington Commanders will look a bit different for this week’s game against the New England Patriots. For the first time since the end of the 2018 season, the Commanders will not have either Montez Sweat or Chase Young. Sweat and Young were traded ahead of last week’s NFL trade deadline to the Bears and 49ers, respectively.

Replacing Sweat and Young in the starting lineup will be James Smith-Williams and Casey Toohill. Toohill and Smith-Williams have plenty of experience, having been with the Commanders since 2020. In 2021, when Young and Sweat were injured, Washington went 5-2 with Toohill and Smith-Williams starting at defensive end.

The Commanders are ranked 29th in total defense, so it’s not like they can be much worse.
