Washington Redskins At Kansas City Chiefs

Again for the fourth straight game, our Washington Redskins will be the underdogs when they play the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium under the bright lights of Monday Night Football with millions of football fans watching the game all over the world. However, some analysts, current players and former players are starting to believe the Redskins are a better team than they’ve been given credit. Warren Sapp, ex All-Pro and Hall of Fame member knows defense as he was instrumental in the “Tampa 2 defense.” Here’s what Sapp had to say:

“The Washington Redskins will be better than you think because I know the guy whose calling the plays (Jay Gruden) and running it, he does a good job. Me and Jay won a World Championship together so I know him pretty well. He is a guy you want to go to war with. I would run to that job because I knew he would get me totally prepared for everything coming my way.” Sapp gave Jay Gruden high praise. Jay was an assistant under Jon Gruden at Tampa Bay when they won the Super Bowl.

To those of us who have a “coach’s eye,” we see the difference in the culture on our defensive side of the ball with the Defensive Coordinator change from Joe Barry to Greg Manusky. Between Redskins President Bruce Allen and former General Manager Scot McCloughan, we have better and more talented players, plus better assistant coaches. The domination by the Redskins defense over the Oakland Raiders was not a fluke. A win in Kansas City, on the road, against the 3 and 0 Chiefs should give our team the respect they deserve.

I predict another jailbreaking pass rush that gets sacks on Alex Smith, quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs. I predict two more passes picked off by our secondary that is learning to disguise their coverages and swarm to the football. I do not believe the Chiefs will score more than 20 points. Finally, I predict a Redskins victory 31 to 20 with touchdowns by Vernon Davis, Terrelle Pryor and Josh Doctson with other scores. Our Redskins know this game is an opportunity where they can finally get credit, get respect, and prove they are a top-ranked defense and an explosive offense that can produce. Expect the Washington Redskins to go 3 and 1, then get their bye week to heal up and come back to take the NFC East Division title.
