Warriors compete at Blue Raider High School Invitational

Apr. 1—The Southwestern Warriors traveled to Columbia on Friday to take part in the Lilburn Vaughn Blue Raider High School Invitational hosted by Casey County. They were able to take home a couple of top three finishes during the course of the event, with the Warriors finishing fourth as a team in boys and fifth as a team in girls.

In the boys' 100m, senior Kameron Cox finished 12th with a time of 11.85, with his sophomore teammate Dashaun Sejour finishing 13th with a time of 11.90.

In the boys' 200m, senior Victor Colyer finished seventh in a time of 23.72, with sophomore Drew Kelly finishing 18th with a time of 26.60.

Colyer finished sixth in the boys' 400m with a time of 52.74, with fellow senior Valor Pennington placing 17th with a time of 57.79.

In the boys' 800m, senior Zabrey Bortz finished eighth with a time of 2:16.14, while Kelly finished right behind him in ninth with a time of 2:16.35.

Bortz finished ninth in the boys' 1600m with a time of 5:11.68, while his freshman teammate Hayden Cummins finished 11th with a time of 5:26.74.

Bortz again placed well in the boys' 3200m, finishing fourth with a time of 10:49.07, while freshman teammate Hunter Troxtle finished eighth with a time of 11:19.27.

Senior Steven Flynn finished seventh in the boys' 110m hurdles with a time of 19.52. He also finished sixth in the boys' 300m hurdles with a time of 46.22.

In the boys' 2000m steeplechase, Bortz finished second with a time of 7:27.17. His sophomore teammate Gunner Schlosser finished fifth with a time of 8:13.93.

In the boys' 4x100m relay, Southwestern's team of Cox, Flynn, Sejour and Riley Stinson finished eighth with a time of 48.22.

In the boys' 4x200m relay, Southwestern's team of Cox, Stinson, Sejour and Colyer finished sixth with a time of 1:37.25.

In the boys' 4x400m relay, Southwestern's team of Colyer, Pennington, Levi Taylor and Ben Coomer finished fourth with a time of 3:44.44.

In the boys' 4x800m relay, Southwestern's team of Bortz, Coomer, Cummins and Kelly finished fifth with a time of 9:55.71.

Senior Kaden Hewitt finished second in the boys' high jump with a height of 5-08.00, while Pennington finished fifth.

Cox finished second in the boys' long jump with a distance of 19-11.00, with Hewitt finishing fifth.

In the boys' triple jump, Hewitt finished sixth with a distance of 39-08.00, with Taylor finishing eighth.

Senior Nico Pascarella finished fifth in the boys' discus with a distance of 121-01.00.

In the boys' shot put, senior Nikolas Tucker finished eighth with a distance of 40-02.00, while Pennington finished 18th.

In the girls' 100m, sophomore Emma Sears finished 18th with a time of 15.41, while freshman Kaylee Creek finished 24th with a time of 17.10.

Eighth grader Shelby Lockard finished third in the girls' 200m with a time of 28.38, while freshman Clare Marie Ramsey finished sixth with a time of 29.16.

In the girls' 400m, junior Kaitlyn Williams placed 17th with a time of 1:11.46, with freshman Reagan Butt finishing 22nd with a time of 1:20.59.

In the girls' 800m, sophomore Olivia Huff finished fourth in a time of 2:35.25.

Senior Shaye Seiber came in fourth place in the girls' 1600m with a time of 5:35.77, while her junior teammate Nahia Galarregui finished 18th with a time of 7:15.52.

In the girls' 3200m, seventh grader Brylee Troxtle finished eighth with a time of 15:21.82, while junior Kya Rowlands finished ninth with a time of 16:20.59.

In the girls' 100m hurdles, junior Ansley Mounce finished 10th with a time of 20.51, while Rowlands finished 16th with a time of 23.22.

Lockard finished sixth in the girls' 300m hurdles with a time of 53.64, with Mounce finishing 11th with a time of 57.72.

Seiber won the girls' 2000m steeplechase with a time of 8:18.86.

In the girls' 4x100m relay, Southwestern's team of Rowlands, Creek, Sears and A.J. Perrin finished 11th with a time of 1:01.96.

In the girls' 4x200m relay, Southwestern's team of Mounce, Ramsey, Lockard and Huff finished fifth with a time of 1:56.25.

In the girls' 4x400m relay, Southwestern's team of Mounce, Huff, Ramsey and Seiber finished second with a time of 4:31.69.

In the girls' 4x800m relay, Southwestern's team of Huff, Galarregui, Lockard and Seiber again finished second with a time of 11:06.44.

Ramsey finished sixth in the girls' high jump with a height of 4-06.00.

In the girls' long jump, senior Sia Taylor finished 18th with a distance of 12-00.00, with Troxtle finishing 20th.

In the girls' discus, junior Chloe Brotherton finished fifth with a distance of 70-11.00, with Taylor finishing 14th.

In the girls' shot put, Taylor finished 10th with a distance of 22-11.00, with Brotherton finishing 15th.
